Previous match vs USA

I saw it mentioned on the www.ussoccer.com website that 'It’s
been more than 70 years since the only meeting between the
United States and Northern Ireland, a 5-0 victory for the hosts
on Aug. 11, 1948, in Belfast.'
A bit of Googling revealed that this seems to have been an
unofficial international. Some details below:
'Not a full international for the IFA. It is currently listed as
full by the USSF, although it was their Olympic (amateur) team,
which was not precisely the strongest possible US national team.
USSF counts the two friendlies after the Olympics (vs IFA and vs
Norway), but not the Olympic match itself.
Aug 11 1948, Belfast, Windsor Park, 14000
IFA XI 5-0 USA
Goals: McGarry x2, Campbell x2, Hughes
IFA: Samuel Patty; Herbie Hegarty, Alf McMichael; John Wilson
[c], Charlie Currie, Sammy Hughes; Johnny Campbell,
Kevin McGarry, Billy Simpson, Hugh Cunningham, Johnny McKenna.
USA: Archie Strimel; Joseph Rego-Costa, Robert Annis; Joe
Ferreira, Manuel Martin (Charlie Colombo),
Walter Bahr; Ray Beckman, Gino Pariani (Steve Grivnow), Bill
Bertani, Benny McLaughlin, John Souza.
Ref: D.Maxwell (N.Ireland).
All the N.Ireland players played for local clubs. None of them
had full international caps at the time of this game (McKenna
had played in the unofficial victory internationals in 1945/6).
Won full caps later: McMichael, Campbell, McGarry, Simpson,
McKenna.'
