Glens submit Oval redevelopment plans (10k capacity, 8k of them

Glentoran submit plan for £8m to £10m Oval redevelopment

Glentoran have submitted a planning application to Belfast City
council for a redevelopment of the Oval ground.
The proposal is to demolish the existing spectator stand and
replace with two new 4,000 capacity all seater stands, and also
develop the terracing at goal ends for 2,000 people.
New turnstiles, additional car parking and improved circulation
       routes have also been proposed.
It's understood the plan could cost between £8m and £10m.
For the proposed redevelopment to become a reality, government
sub regional funding will be required as well as substantial
       investment from Glentoran's owners.
The plans also include the east Belfast ground's playing surface
       becoming an artificial 3G pitch.

From a wellwisher's point of view (can't really call myself a
"supporter" from this distance), it will be really sad to see
the old place lose its character, but needs must I suppose, as
with the plastic pitch. (I don't like them myself).
A ten thousand capacity will be about right too, I'd say - i.e.
might seem high-ish for now, but who knows how things will be
over the 40? 50? 60? year lifespan of this project?

Poorly written article from the BBC, capacity is not going to be
10,000, its 6120. One main stand 3,000 seats, a stand on the
opposite side 1120, and two open terraces behind each goal each
       holding 1000 people.

Did the new owner not want to install a 3G straight away and he
was told by planners or building control that it wasn’t feasible
because the pitch is below sea level? Ie susceptible to
       flooding?

It all sounds good apart from the 3G pitch.

Oh dear, is it falling down?
Is this what happens when you don't maintain a stadium? How very
       remiss of their board.

Thanks once again to our regular Glentoran contributor GP Jim
for keeping us up to date with developments at the Oval.
(although I wouldn't give up your day job to become a
journalist, as sourcing your information from little more than a
glorified scam account - an anonymous clown with an axe to grid
who has a fixation with paramilitaries and rarely presents any
evidence to back up their outlandish claims is never gonna get
you a job with the BBC News fact-checking department).

       Lol
You’re really not taking this terribly well.
I think you’ll find I’ve already commented on some of
@angryrooster82’s tweets, as funny and mad as some of them are,
       but they’re great crack.
Also, somewhat disingenuous to dismiss them all. For example,
did he lie about your secretary’s social media jokes? Are you
       dismissing that evidence?
Did you even spot the question mark in my post? Perhaps you can
confirm that the stand is structurally sound, no concerns have
been raised and no props have been added?
