UEFA Womens U19 2025 Finals Qualifiers
By: EalingGreen Date: November 21, 2024, 8:54 am
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Having been promoted from League B in April by wins over Georgia
and Estonia, plus a draw with Kazakhstan, NI have now been drawn
with Spain (defending Champions), Belgium and Iceland in League
       A:

They will play their three games next week in Spain (hosts), as
       follows;
       Wed. 27 Nov - Spain (11am k.o. UK time)
       Sat. 30 Nov - Belgium (5pm)
       Tue. 03 Dec - Iceland (11am)

Since only the winner of each of the seven Groups goes through
to join hosts Poland in the Finals next summer, we must be
long-odds against going through, but still, it will be good
       experience.

Beaten 6-0 by Spain earlier this morning:

Considering Spain are the reigning European champions, and the
Group games are all being hosted by them, it maybe wasn't quite
       so bad as it looks?
While Belarus are currently 8-0 up vs Moldova (15 mins to play),
Slovenia beat Malta 7-0 and Romania beat Liechtenstein 12-0 in
       some of today's other games.
EDIT: (Very) Late Update: In that mini tournament staged in
Spain back in November they also narrowly lost to Belgium and
drew with Iceland, but that was not enough for them to retain
       their League A status.

Now back in League B, Gail Redmond's U-19's will be travelling
to Albania later this month for the second stage of the UEFA
WU19 Euro 2025 qualifiers, against the Albanians, Azerbaijan and
Montenegro in League B Group 4.
First up is a game against Azerbaijan, at the House of Football
       in Tirana, on 18 February.
Matchday two, on 21 February, will see them take on Montenegro
at the same venue, while they will complete the mini tournament
with a game against the hosts at Elbasan Arena in Elbasan on 24
       February.
The winners of League B Group 4 will be promoted to League A for
stage one of the qualifiers for WU19 Euro 2026 this autumn.

Azerbaijan comfortably dispatched 4-0 out in Albania this
       afternoon.
Won their second match today 3-0 against Montenegro.
       5--0 win today against Albania.
[/quote]The above games date from February, when they won their
Group to get promotion from League B to League A.
Meaning that later this month they will be up against Italy
(hosts), Switzerland and Belarus in Group A6 in the first round
of the qualifiers for WU19 Euro 2026.
It then gets a bit convoluted about how you get to the 2026
Finals next summer etc, but suffice to say, it will be
       odds-against for our girls:
