"1,280 days without a home game - NI's nomad years"

Very interesting BBC article on the days when The Troubles
forced NI to play our "home" games at a neutral venue away from
OWC (some great pics, too):

This is particularly poignant for me, since I was present at the
last Windsor game, a 1-1 draw with USSR on 13 October 1971 (my
second ever NI game). While I was also at our return home, a 1-0
victory over Yugoslavia on 16 April 1975, still one of the most
heart-warming and enjoyable games I've ever seen, any team, any
time.
Sadly however, I was deprived of the chance to see 8 intervening
homes: Spain, Scotland (x2), Portugal, Cyprus, England, Wales
and Bulgaria.

I missed the USSR match as we were moving house that day. I
remember the crowds heading along the Lisburn Road for the
Yugoslavia match but cannot remember anything about the match.
