       Welcome to Fall 2026 Troubleshooting Forum

       Dear class,
       Welcome to the troubleshooting forum for this semester's
       ECEN3314 lab. You are encouraged to use this forum to help each
       other and to learn proper documentation for debugging, and also
       to investigate how useful AI is with helping you debug your
       circuits.
       You can get +5% extra credit on any properly formatted question
       or answer post, provided it meets all these conditions:
       Forum Questions: Forum questions must consist of four elements.
       First, a photo of your oscilloscope waveform that you want to
       troubleshoot. Second, a close up photo of your bread board where
       all connections can be identified. Third, a comprehensive photo
       showing your breadboard and its connections to the power
       supplies, function generator, and oscilloscope signal and ground
       connections. Third, a detailed description of what you are
       trying to do, what you expect to see, what you actually saw, and
       how you intended for the circuit to be connected.
       Ex: "I am trying to build a non-inverting op amp with a gain of
       10x in Lab 1. However, the oscilloscope waveform shows that the
       output waveform is only 5x as large as the input. I have the +12
       V of my power supply connected to pin 8, the -12 V power supply
       connected to pin 4, and its ground connected to pin 3. My
       function generator signal input connected to pin 3, my FG ground
       connected to pin 2 through the 1 kohm resistor. I have the Ch1
       signal connected to pin 3 and the Ch2 signal connected to pin 1,
       and both grounds are connected to pin 3.

       Forum questions must receive at least two valid responses to
       earn extra credit. You may provide an answer to your own
       question as long as it has one other response. If you as the
       original poster and another response list the same correct
       answer, priority will be given to the other response. Don't post
       problems you already know how to answer to get extra credit.
       Forum Answers: Forum answers should begin with a statement of
       whether or not you used AI. Afterwards, suggest a solution and
       why you think it will solve the problem.
       Ex.: "I did not use AI for this answer.
       Did you check if you have both the +12 and -12 parts of your
       power supply turned on and connected to your circuit. Maybe if
       you are missing half of your power supply you may be missing
       half of your gain?"
       Forum answers must be selected as correct by the original poster
       (OP) to receive extra credit.

       back in Spring 2025 with Saif as the TA. We want to continue
       this forum as a lab knowledge accumulation, exchange, and
       troubleshooting hub.
       Some notes:
       Circuit Debugging only. Not homework or other discussions. Use
       Canvas instead.
       Simulation and measurement bugs are both welcome.
       Protect your privacy. This is a commercial forum. Your posts may
       be used to train unknown AI models without your permission.
       Post anonymously or not at your own risk.

       Upload images, logs, and any other context information to help
       others troubleshoot
       Known risks:
       When you feed this forum as additional context to your own
       chatbot, watch out for factual errors propagating from previous
       posts
       For example, your chatbot may "learn" the wrong tip from a
       factually incorrect comment made by someone in the past
