Lab 8 - Finding the Offset Voltage for maximum gain at 50Hz

There is a section of the lab where, once you're hooked up to
the circuit, decrease the offset voltage of the function
generator by .1 V until you find the maximum gain. We are having
an issue however, where after decreasing past 2.5V the input
voltage on the oscilloscope reads a pk-pk value inconsistent
with the function generator. The output voltage also appears
very noise and not sinusoidal.

Hello Evan, this is Thomas Parsley!
We had the same issue. We reduced our offset voltage to 2.3V.
Whenever we reduced the offset voltage to anything lower, the
output frequency ended up being in the MHz. After reducing it
down even further, the output waveform returned to the original
form, but the gain was lower. We believe that 2.3V was where our
maximum gain was obtained.
You might want to try reducing it further to verify the same
thing with your circuit, but what happened with our circuit
might be happening with yours.
