       Our voltage is not changing when measuring over Rc

       We are trying to measure the voltage of Rc to calculate the
       current. we already have an idea of what voltage we need to get
       o.5 mA using Ohms law, but the voltage over our 4.7k resistor
       isn't changing.

       You will have to connect the two grounds to make a common
       ground.
