Extremely Urgent Announcement

MOVING!!!!![/size][/shadow]
In about two weeks time, we will be moving the new server to a
new provider. This will offer you better quality service, higher
player limit and allow us more freedom to mod and control the
servers while also paying a lot less money. The company that
provides our box now is out of the UK so we have to pay for it
in Great Brittish Pounds. Not only is this company more
expensive per slot, but the conversion rate from USD to GBP
makes it even more expensive to where we are paying over $80 for
a server that can only handle 60 players.
This new provider will cost us a total of $50 and allow us 100
players and much more freedom to mod server which will allow us
better restart schedules with clear warnings, better mods with
AI that require headless client, and much more freedom from a
development standpoint. Also will give us a more powerful cpu
and better server which will make your gameplay more smooth and
enjoyable.
Because of the database using SQL we should easily be able to
export a file with all your information and easily transfer it
to the new server. Once we are confident that everyone has been
notified of the move we will announce a specific date for the
change. On that date we will transfer the database over to the
new server and close down the current one. We will try to make
it as easy and organized as we possibly can so that no data is
lost and you can seemlessly transfer to the new IP with
absolutely no data loss or rollback.
We are in the process of setting up the new box now. Once an ip
is set we will post it here, on the news banner on the forum
home page, and on our main sites homepage. We will also make
recurring announcements on the server with the new IP as well as
put it in the hostname. You WILL definitely be notified of the
new IP. There shouldn't be anything for you to worry about but
if you do have any concerns or questions, please let us know.

Our server has been set up and it is the process of moving all
of our files and mods now. We have already moved all of our
players data over to the new database to make sure everyone will
be able to transfer without losing any of their stuff. We will
update the database again on the day of the official move to
make it as seamless as possible so please do not worry about
losing your base or any progress. It will transfer with you.
The new server will be up and running with the usual
"[OSSGaming]" bracket in the title. It will be locked until the
day of the move but we're keeping it up so players can search
for it and add it to their favorites before hand. We don't want
there to be any trouble finding us after the move. The server IP
and other information can be found at the bottom of this post.
We will list the server information in a number of places to
ensure everyone knows about the move and where to find us. First
and foremost we will announce it via global messages on the
server every hour with the date of the move and the new IP. We
will also list the move and IP in the "server info" section of
your XM8 ingame. The new server information will be listed on
our homepage, the about page, and obviously our forums. Then
once we have moved, the current server will get locked and the
title of server will be changed to announced the move and list
the new IP address so those who search the server will see we've
moved and have the information right there to find us. We will
also send out a mass e-mail to all registered members on the
website.
