Helpful links on True Orthodoxy

This short biography of St. Glicherie of Romania linked below
provides a basic understanding of what led to the formation of
True Orthodoxy. St. Glicherie was a wonderworking saint who
suffered and died for his faith. It was he who strengthened the
Romanian Orthodox and who provided crucial support for them in
the formative years of True Orthodoxy.

Of all the True Orthodox, the True Orthodox Church of Romania
has the largest percentage of their population who adhere to
True Orthodoxy, over 1.5 million adherents according to
conservative figures. That is a lot of people in such a small
country.

Here is another biography of a very holy and inspiring True
Orthodox Saint, The Life of Saint Matthew the New Confessor of
Greece:

Here is an excellent essay written by Fr. Basile Sakkas on The
Calendar Question
This essay explains why the True Orthodox Churches condemn the
New Calendar as part of Ecumenism and why they had to split from
the Eastern Orthodox Churches under the EP.

Below is the most recent newsletter prepared under the guidance
of Bishop Sergios of the GOC-K. This newsletter discusses the
isolation experienced by many in True Orthodoxy and how to
handle it a positive way:

If you click

and look on the right
hand panel, there are a number of issues, all of which are
worthwhile reading.
Here is a very short article written by Scott Placek: The
Challenge of the True Orthodox in North America

Let me know if any of these above links do not work.
By the way, a recently canonized saint in the OCA and Antiochian
Orthodox Church is St. Raphael of Brooklyn, NY. Here is what he
wrote about the rising problems with Ecumenism at the beginning
of the 20th Century only three years before he died.
St. Raphael of Brooklyn 1860-1915 said:
Experience has forced upon me the conviction that to
promote courtesy and friendship, which seems to be the only aim
of the Union at present, not only amounts to killing precious
time, at best, but also is somewhat hurtful to the religious and
ecclesiastical welfare of the Holy Orthodox Church in these
United States… I view union as only a pleasing dream. Indeed, it
is impossible for the Holy Orthodox Church to receive—as She has
a thousand times proclaimed, and as even the Papal See of Rome
has declaimed to the Holy Orthodox Church’ s credit—anyone into
Her Fold or into union with Her who does not accept Her Faith in
full without any qualifications—the Faith which She claims is
most surely Apostolic. (Letter of Resignation from the Anglican
and Orthodox Churches Union, published in the Russian Orthodox
Messenger, February 18, 1912)
St. Basil, On the Holy Spirit, Ch. XXX: Exposition of the
present state of the Churches, describes a state of affairs that
is similar to our own. He writes,
Did it not at one time
appear that the Arian schism, after its separation into a sect
opposed to the Church of God, stood itself alone in hostile
array? But when the attitude of our foes against us was changed
from one of long standing and bitter strife to one of open
warfare, then, as is well known, the war was split up in more
ways than I can tell into many subdivisions, so that all men
were stirred to a state of inveterate hatred alike by common
party spirit and individual suspicion. But what storm at sea was
ever so fierce and wild as this tempest of the Churches? In it
every landmark of the Fathers has been moved; every foundation.
every bulwark of opinion has been shaken: everything buoyed up
on the unsound is dashed about and shaken down. We attack one
another. We are overthrown by one another. If our enemy is not
the first to strike us, we are wounded by the comrade at our
side.
Is there a list of the True Orthodox Churches in the USA?
Does the True Orthodox Church accept members of the Eastern
Orthodox Church or of the Macedonian Orthodox Church or of the
Ukranian Orthodox Church KP, for Holy Communion?

1. Is there a list of the True Orthodox Churches in the USA?
At the link below, I have tried to provide a listing of all
True Orthodox Churches worldwide. There have been some changes,
so I am trying to get some updated information. However, some
jurisdictions are not computer savvy, so they have not updated
their information at their websites. Others do not even have
websites.
HTML http://www.euphrosynoscafe.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=10260
Nevertheless, I must mention that there are some vagante
churches that parade around as True Orthodox or Orthodox
Catholic Churches when they are neither True Orthodox, nor
Catholic, nor part of any recognized jurisdiction.
2. Does the True Orthodox Church accept members of the Eastern
Orthodox Church or of the Macedonian Orthodox Church or of the
Ukranian Orthodox Church KP, for Holy Communion?
Unfortunately, no. The True Orthodox Church is not in communion
with those Eastern Orthodox Churches who are in communion with
the MP, KP, or EP. If any of these churches were to submit to
the Old Calendar and reject Ecumenism, then that would open the
door to intercommunion.
If you have not read any of the links in the OP (my first post
above), then you might want to do so. At least read the article,
On the Calendar Question, by Fr. Basile Sakkos who wrote this
essay for the ROCOR under St. Philaret of New York.

Is this something mentioned in the New Testament, that in
order to be a good Christian, you have to follow the calendar
introduced by Julius Caesar in 46 BC ? Is it a mortal sin if you
do not follow the calendar introduced by Julius Caesar?

Even though the MP uses the Old Calendar, he supports Ecumenism.
Furthermore, he allows intercommunion with the New Calendarists.
For example, both the MP and the ROCOR-MP have had
concelebrations with the OCA, which is under the New Calendar.

Again, please read the article by Fr. Basile Sakkas, On the
Calendar Question.
He covers that very nicely.

Can we have a separate thread on the calendar issue where we
will be able to present our arguments either for or against the
mandatory use of the Old Calendar?

Once you have 50 posts, you can start a new thread in one of the
three Private Polemics Forums where you can ask that question.
However, please post informative posts until that time.
