China, so this is to be expected. However, did the article say
that there are at present no Chinese Orthodox priests in
mainland China? I am not sure about Hong Kong.

[/quote]There are two R. Catholic Churches in mainland China:
The Patriotic Church and the underground Church. I suspect that
the Patriotic Church cannot preach against artificial birth
control.
