The darkness beckons. [Lya, near midnight, closed]
By: Lya Date: August 26, 2013, 11:02 pm

The air hung thick in the night, as the smallest sliver of the
moon before the new moon hung in the sky. A thick mist, or was
it a fog, rolled about across the ground. In the light of the
moon a figure walked through the mist. Ebony locks blew in the
soft wind, her eyes barely focused as she wandered. Who knows
how long she had been walking, minutes, maybe hours. It was as
if a force had navigated her footsteps for her, calling her
here.

as she walks it seems that shadows accompany her on both sides.
but trying to look directly at them would prove difficult. the
shadows always seemed to stay within her peripheral.

The feeling that the figures were walking with her, she couldn't
decide if it was comforting or unnerving. Every so often she
glanced to her side, trying to get a better view of the shadows,
but to each try was met with no clearer picture than she started
with. Sighing softly she continued walking forward. Her
thoughts bounded through her mind. [i]"Where am I going? Is
something calling to me? Where am I?"

Quick Whispers began to fill her ears getting louder and louder
to the point of shouting but even then the words were garbled.
Every here and there certain words could be heard.
Go......come.....follow. the shadows flitted into her central
vision and far ahead into an abandoned building and out of sight

Her own thoughts first mixed with the voices, adding to the
chaos in her mind. As they grew louder though, her own voice
was drowned out by their garbled voices. One thing was certain
in her mind, she had to keep walking, had to keep going forward.
As the shadows traveled forward into a building, she had a
destination. Without a hesitation, she began walking towards
the building, her vision focused on the building.

The shadows stand in a second floor window looking down upon the
girl. As she got closer to the building more shadows appeared in
the window of the next door building. Shadows began to appear in
windows of all the buildings in the vicinity. The whispering
seemed to be coming from all of them. Come...go...follow. the
same words echoed around her through the onslaught of whispers.
It seemed as if the buildings were surrounding her........in
fact the buildings truly were surrounding her, getting closer
and closer, louder and louder. The sky seemed to be going crazy,
the clouds flew by as if time was in fast forward, the moon
shined bright and soon died away leaving the world in a blanket
of darkness. Even though she was used to dark this dark was like
any other, unfamiliar, thick.....and threatening. It seemed to
cling to her like muck, hardened her breathing like being
underwater.

Walking forward her way was sure. The voices that echoed her
on, kept her pace steady. Her eyes darted around, seeing the
multitude of shadows. Soon her world felt as though it began to
spin. Were there always this many buildings? Was this street
so narrow? Had there been so many figures surrounding her? The
clouds only furthered to disorient her. Confused, dizzy, and
sure she continued walking. The air slowly becoming harder and
harder to make sure any got to her lungs. She gasped as the
darkness began to cling to her, the feeling foreign to that
which she expected. Still she moved onward.

All of a sudden...... it all ended. The confusion came to an
abrupt halt. The town no longer seemed to be the town. The world
around was a realm of pure darkness. The moon shone bright above
but it seemed to do nothing about the darkness. One lonely
building resided in the distance. The light from the lone moon
was enough to see that the shadows had mode two rows on both
sides of lya, making a path directly to the building

As the world disappeared from view, her footsteps slowed for a
moment. Almost as if she was pausing to take in the
surroundings. The darkness, so thick, her eyes trailed up to
the moon for but a moment. Her eyes wincing slightly at the
light above her, she returned her gaze to the shadows. This
darkness still felt unfamiliar, thick, but still beckoning. Her
gait resumed as she followed the path directed, and she walked
to the building.

the shadows watched her walk, the whispers once again to a hush
and barely audible. as she walked she pasted a boy he looked at
her. it was diggs, he smiled at her "Lya i've always looked up
to you...smart, beautiful, and fun.........don't go" the words
echoed from his mouth that didn't seem to move. he sounded like
a memory rather than it actually coming from him. and like a
memory he faded away. "come.....go...follow" the whispers
begged. the intrigue of the house pulling at her everything.
