The figure smirked softly as the boy came too. Standing between
Lya and Nathan so that they could both see him the figure
crossed its arms. The only thing about the figure that could be
seen other than the cloak was the piercing violet eyes glowing
behind the dark hood. [i]"Where are you? That is something
that a subject needent know. If thy mind yearns to continue
questioning, well then you can think of this as my lab. All
that is important however is that thou are about to aid in a
furthering of the knowledge of the world." With a flick of the
figure's wrist the chest housing the crystals appeared at the
figures feet.

Hearing Nathan's voice, Lya's head snapped to him on instinct,
checking to make sure he was okay. Her eyes narrowing on the
figure she pulled against the restraints

nathan looked over to lya and nodded that he was ok "what are
you going to do to us?"

The figure grinned and opened the chest again. [i]"Who I am
does not matter. What am I going to do to you? I do not
believe it is the subjects place to question my intentions.
However if you must insist." The deep voiced figure produced 2
crystals from the box. The first was about the size of a ping
pong ball. The crystal was a deep blood color, with a bright
white light shinning inside it, spiraling around. The second
crystal was noticeably bigger, about the size of a small apple.
This crystal was also a shinning blood color, however the
swirling color inside of it was jet black, as if no light could
escape the depths of the crystal. Turning back to his test
subjects, there was an air of amusement, and intrigue in the
figures voice. [i]"I am going to test you....to see if it makes
you stronger....or pushes you past the threshold."

Instinctively trying to shy away from the cloaked figure, she
continued to struggle against her restraints.

At Lya's voice rose the figure turned to her, and touched one of
the runes on the table. A jolt pulsed through her body, causing
her severe pain. Turning back to Nathan, the aura around the
figure grew more malicious. [i]"You do not understand my
intentions, there is a difference between that and doing
something nonsensical. In fact my methods make a world of
sense. You see I am an acedemic. What I want to see is how you
react to the addition of something foreign. Why have I chosen
you? While that is none of your concern, I will tell you I need
subjects that can....withstand....the first stages so that i may
see the results." The voice was matter of fact, as it took the
larger of the crystals and turned to Lya.

As the jolt passed through her body, Lya let out a small cry.
Her body shaking in pain, she glared at the figure that held
them captive.

her lya scream in pain nathan tried to pull at the restraints
baring his fangs at the cloaked figure "LEAVE HER ALONE!!" he
growled at the cloaked figure his voice almost demonic

A short laugh escaped the figure as Nathan's restraints
tightened. [i]"Thy valiance while commendable will not get you
far here in my domain. I shall do with this one as I see fit.
However....if you are volunteering yourself to go first, then I
shall happily oblige." The larger of the crystals was set on
the table next to lya, and the figure turned back to Nathan, and
set the smaller crystal next to him. Walking back to the
computer system, the figure started the final check, to make
sure the data was being collected.
