The room itself was a standard hospital room. It appeared to be
a double because of the two beds, however the beds themselves
were small, much to small for a grown adult. There was a closed
closet, which had an eerie feel, and a green toy ball in the
corner.

"Tis must have been a childrens room." she said softly, her hand
running over the bedspread she turned and looked around the
room. Her eyes drifted to the toy, she made her way over to it
and picked it up trying to ignore the off feeling she felt from
the closet.

The ball was far from pristine, it was well played with, well
loved. The room near the closet is a bit colder than the rest
of the room, in addition to the unsettling presence. In the
silence, a soft sound of footsteps running could be heard, but
were hard to pinpoint.

She held the ball loosely in her hands, nearly dropping it at
the sound of footsteps. "Maybe this place is haunted." she
muttered, tightening her grip a bit on the ball she decided to
leave the room and search another.

The hallway seemed almost darker than it had been before, the
darkness centered on the stairwell. The darker the hallway was
the more oppressive it would feel. Another of the rooms along
the hallways was cracked just a hair. Obviously a bit brighter
in there soft humming could be heard in the air.

She sheathed her sword and took the ball with her as she made
her way down the dark hall. The entire atmosphere made the hairs
on the back of her neck rise but she forced onward towards the
currently lit room where the sounds were coming from.

The humming got slightly louder as she approached the door, at
some point being able to distinguish two distinct pitches. When
she got within a few feet of the door the humming stopped and
was replaced with the sound of shushing. A soft female voice
could be heard. "Shhhh. Did you hear that? Is it......" A
light sound of scurrying was heard.

She stopped "Is someone here, do you need help?" she asked
hesitating briefly to push the door open and walk in.

The room appeared empty as she entered. The light source came
from a small gas lap that was lit in the corner. The closet was
closed most of the way, however it was opened a crack.

She set the ball down and placed a hand on her sword. Quietly
she crept over to the closet door, looking around she yanked the
door open and drew her sword out of its sheath.
