My side of the story [closed, after delving further into studies

Mika sat curled up on the couch in Hunter's living room. Her
eyes were closed for the moment, her fingers rubbing delicate
circles on her temples. She was woozier than she would want to
admit, but at least the world had slowed its insistent spinning.
Hunter had helped her back to his house from the library. Much
of what had happened was still foggy. However Hunter showing up
when he did had been a relief. Slowly opening those slightly
stormy grey eyes of hers she brought the room back into focus.
Feeling more at ease than she did anywhere else, she sighed
lightly.

The supernatural hunter had many tricks in his bag, but
especially in his home. He came in with a glass of something
that had a faintly orange tint about it. As if something red had
been put in orange juice. He had it and a few crackers sitting
on a plate.
He set both things down on the table in front of the
convalescing angel, and took a seat beside her, perching at the
edge of the couch. He took a look at her eyes, his expression
making it clear that he didn't like the pallor of her skin. The
man covered her up with a light throw, but remained at her side.
"Drink that. It will replace what you've lost. And then, would
you like to tell me what happened? I also have a bit of news to
be shared." He said softly, though he didn't precisely phrase
any of it as question or suggestion.

As the blanket was placed over her she curled into it
instinctively, grateful for the warmth and comfort it provided.
Taking the glass, she brought it to her lips softly. Watching
the color of the drink for a moment, she took a long sip of the
liquid. A cracker found its way into her hand, and she ate one,
before taking another sip of the drink.
A soft tilt of the angel's head was seen as he mentioned news.
First was first however, she closed her eyes as if locating the
thoughts in her mind. Opening them back up she looked at
Hunter. "I met Kurei on the mountain. I had been up there
thinking, when Yume ran into me. She wanted to be attacked to
release a specific summon. Miyako was happy to oblige." She
sighed lightly, the story was a familiar one for her. Her on
the mountain thinking, then her other side coming out to fight.
"Kurei I think took an interest in Miyako, enjoying the battle
with her."
"I was in the library reading, when Kurei showed up, wanting to
share his past, and to hear mine. It's not exactly my favorite
topic, but he was fairly adamant. I gave him a little about
what I think I remember about my past, and something in it
triggered him remembering something, which woke up the vampire
in him. Before I could even react he was fighting off some form
of blood lust. Next thing I knew I was providing the blood to
stave of him losing it." Her hand found its to her neck,
shivering lightly remembering the feeling. Much of what had
happened in the library were things that made her uncomfortable
by her nature. Looking at her past, the blood lust from Kurei,
she sighed lightly.

At mention of the violation that had transpired, Hunter's fist
tightened, his green eyes darkening. "Why did Miyako not rise?
Why didn't she protect herself and you? He could have killed
you!" His voice had raised to a near shout, a surprise from a
man usually so quiet. His teeth clicked as he shut his mouth,
standing to pace. "Finish that drink. It won't taste very
pleasant if it separates."
The set of his shoulders, the furrow in his brow speaks clearly
of his worry, his concern, and his anger at the situation. He
moved not unlike a panther in a cage. "Mika, for your safety,
and for my sanity, keep away from that leech. He lacks control
and any true conscience. He is the worst of what a vampire can
be. Please, avoid him." His hand lifted, rubbing his forehead,
but he never stopped pacing.

Mika's eyes fell to the floor as his voice raised, almost
ashamed. Nodding quietly at his suggestion she kept her gaze on
the glass as she finished the drink. Setting the empty
container down, she picked up another cracker. She nibbled on
it lightly, but spent more time watching it for a silent moment
before she looked back up at the pacing man.
"I do not know why Miyako didn't rise. I think it happened too
quickly, and we were both in shock." She offered weakly. Her
eyes following his movements through the room, she bit her lip
lightly. Making him worry, giving him cause for anger, these
were things she never intended to do. Hands folded softly
across her lap under the throw she nodded. "I will do my best.
I don't really want to have that happen again." She spoke
quietly. She had felt rather helpless and weak through this,
and that didn't set well with her. However she knew he saw her
as a link to his past. "I do not know if he will stay away
though. He seemed fairly intent on trying to figure out his
past."

Hunter came back to his former perch. He didn't have it in him
to remain angry for long with her or around her. He sighed
softly. "You dislike speaking of your past. It pains you, and
makes that monster's words haunt. A dog like that bloodsucker
that says you are siblings has not earned the right to inflict
that on you. Send him to your brother." Hunter said, lifting her
eyes to his.
"Sweet angel, you are ever kind, but some do not deserve your
light. Some are simply thieves or those that use. Let others
handle the foolish leech. Because I did not lie. If he makes the
same mistake twice, I will kill him. I swore I wouldn't allow
you to be harmed." The man said, his tone serious and flat,
though his fingers remained gentle as they moved over her face.
One of his hands cupped the back of her head carefully, and he
placed a brief kiss on her forehead. Moments passed and he
gathered her close into his arms. The way he touched her,
gathered her in, spoke much to his feelings being the same as
they had been in the hospital. And yet, the man was honorable
enough to check himself, and never pressure her.

As her eyes met his, they were almost a bit misty from her past
having been dragged back out again. However the kiss to her
forehead softened the look in her eyes as she was drawn in.
Blushing lightly she rested her head on his shoulder she sighed
into him. "I hate thinking about my past. I keep trying to get
past it, but its like it can never be put to rest. I will let
my brother take care of him, he handles the past better than I
do."
Burrowing into him gently, she wrapped her arms around him. "I
would never want to not be kind, but I never want to be used
again. I know you didn't lie, and that you will not let harm
come to me." she murmured softly. There in his arms she felt
safe, warm, like all was back to being right. She knew he would
protect her, even her past seemed less daunting in his arms.
His care in holding her, she smiled as she looked up at him from
her resting place against his shoulder.
