       Coming Home..(closed, evening.)
By: Gregor Nye Date: October 30, 2012, 7:46 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
It was evening, and a light snow had covered the land. The sun
just kissed the sky as it set over the horizon, and a certain
Full Moon was walking home. In a black shirt, and a pair of
black shorts. He was tired, and he knew that when he got
home, there was some sort of string waiting to be pulled.
With a sigh, he walked towards the house, unlocking the door,
and taking in a deep breath. His eyes were heavy, and the sighs
of sleep deperivation were visible. With a close of the door,
and a drop of a bag, he slowly made his way to the fridge.
Water. Water. That's what his head was screaming. He got his
hands on a bottle and slowly took a sip.
He then made his way to the couch, which he damn near tumbled
over, and closed his eyes softly. He wasn't sleep. Just taking
       in that he was home.

Ely sat in a chair in the corner. It was strategically placed so
that she could clearly see the entire room. In jeans and a loose
white tank, her feet bare, she curled and read a book. Her eyes
followed the form of her missing mate in his movements, but she
       said nothing.
Her ears heard and eyes saw. They were more than perceptive
enough to notice key things, his exhaustion and such, so her
silence was knowing. She also had no real idea how to greet him.

He knew he was being watched. His eyes opened slowly to find
Ely's own. He tried to smile, but his body wouldn't let him. He
lost his balance and slid to the floor. That's how he knew
something was wrong with him. Gre almost never lost his balance.
He took a deep breath, because that slide took a lot out of him.
Again, back to the point. His eyes found Ely's own, and he
       started with a simple greeting.
       "Hello."

She met his eyes, shaking her head minutely. She murmured to
what appeared to be the air, until the spirits themselves known.
What appeared to be a water spirit and a completely different
spirit entirely floated toward him, muttering between themselves
in their spirit speak. It sounds utterly foreign.
It becomes fairly obvious that they're treating him, especially
for the possible hypothermia and certain dehydration. One seems
to be warming him, and the other is acting like an IV minus the
equipment. It's all a little strange. Ely stood up, coming
forward and taking his temperature carefully. "Hi. What the hell
       did you do to yourself?"

He let out a light chuckle. A chuckle that he didn't know he
could manage. He was that tired. His eyes met hers as he lay
       there upside down.
"Well, after you left the restaurant, I came home, put your food
on the counter, and went to change into something that I can
move easily in. I left you a note, saying I would be back in a
few days, but I was planning to come home that night. Instead, I
fell asleep at the library, while nesting in the crevices of
       life.
Then, I went to the crazy guy's castle to get some answers, only
to find none. After that, I sat on top of a mountain, and I
thought about myself. Myself being a broad term for what I was
thinking about, which was basically what my plans are from this
point on are. I made a few self adjustments, and then, the snow
came. Got stuck in the blizzard, and eventually made my way
home." He said, yawning slightly. His teeth were fangs as he
       did so.

She shook her head slightly, noting the fangs. "When's the last
time you ate, fanged one?" She asked, as she sat beside him,
tilting his head back to look at his eyes. She reached into air,
pulling out a penlight. She shined it in his eyes, then moved
the light, watching the pupils react.
She doesn't need the stethoscope in order to check his pulse.
Ely took his hand, pulling the skin on the back of it up, and
watching for the normal elasticity. It wasn't what it could be.
She eyed him, arching her brow. "You're going to be the one
thing that puts grey hair on my head early." She sighed, shaking
her head slowly. She hesitated for nearly a minute. "What did
       you decide on?"

He smiled like a five year old. A five year old with fangs. "The
last time I ate..Hmm.. Probably before that night. I haven't
eaten since." He said, watching her check his skin for
elasticity. "Well, for starters, I've learned that starving
yourself when you're thinking isn't smart. It just makes you
tired. Second, And I know that it may take some proving, but
I've decided that no matter what happens. No matter what anyone
says, I'm going to believe every word that comes out of your
       mouth.
Now, I know what your're thinking, and yes, I will prove it to
you. I don't care what the topic is. I'll believe you.
Third, and probably the most important, is how I react to
things. The time I spent with the Buddhist monks in Taiwan was
the most peaceful time of my life. They kept throwing things
that they knew would make make me angry, and I wouldn't get
angry. I'd just take a deep breath, and all of my troubles would
go away. Like a river. To be honest, you were there. In my
chamber. In a frame." He said, pointing to his bag.
"Look at the picture, when you get the chance. I think you'll
like it. Anyway, back to what I was saying. Deep breaths.
Problems go away. Think twice, act once. That's what I was
taught. And I intend to use those teachings to better myself. I
think that's about it. Yeah. That's it. NO! Wait.. I also found
out that Bow ties are cool." He said, pulling a bow tie out of
       his pocket.

Ely rolled her eyes as she looked at him. "Why are your fangs
out and about, darlin'? You look like the big, bad wolf." She
stood up, grabbing a bag, and tossing it next to him. "Eat. It's
a burger and fries. Do not argue with me. I understand the
teachings, and their importance, but think about them the next
time you starve yourself." She eyed him sternly, apparently
taking no arguments or negative answers.
She'd listened to his words. And didn't know how she felt. Some
part of her thought that, perhaps, it was a little too late for
some of those realizations. Why had it taken so long for him to
decide to believe in her? What had she done that had made it so
       difficult a decison?
Where had the Buddhist teachings come in? How...? Was he going
to start thinking before he did anything? Was that going to help
him not f*** them up again? She settled cool and calm eyes on
Gregor. His commentary about the bowtie goes unnoticed. Things
were just too serious to her, right now.
She moved to the bag he pointed at, pulling out the picture, but
she didn't look at it. "Tell me what this means for us, Gregor.
Tell me what I'm supposed to do with this. What I should take
from it. Tell me why you decided these things." She said, before
she cast her eyes down to the frame in her hands.

He whined a bit when the bag was tossed next to him, but stuck
his hand in and ate a few fries. The picture in question was one
of them right before they left. Ely was on his back, smiling.
Gregor was mid stride, looking back at Ely, as if there wasn't a
care in the world. It was a picture of when they were happy. In
the corner, something is written. It reads: I wish I could come
       home.
Then, his eyes looked to hers. No more looking away when things
got serious. "For us? That's not up to me. Your a woman of your
own. You make your own choices. If I remember right, you once
told me that you are sick of people making choices for you. So,
I'll let you make your own choices.
Us? Is completely up to you. But, I do want you to know
something. Wh- When I saw you, standing in my kitchen. My heart
soared. I didn't think I'd ever see you again. What happened
that day..Everything.. Look, Ely, Put it this way. Take you
away, and I am nothing. Literally. Nothing. I don't think I can
survive without you there. When we were on the couch, the day we
met again. Right before we stopped, and the sun hit you, You
were glowing. And it wasn't the sun. It made me realize, again,
that I have the world. The world in a pair of amber eyes." He
said, and took a deep breath. He wasn't crying, and he didn't
expect her to. He just needed to let her know. His eyes never
       left hers.
