Can I Take You Out(Following Date night.)
By: Gregor Nye Date: October 19, 2012, 5:33 am

Gregor and Elyana finally reached their destination, and Gregor
hadn't spoken a word since they started to walk on the beach.
They were seated, and the menus were handed to them. It was an
Asian themed place, and he would occasionally look at Ely then
his menu.

Ely left her hand in his, thumb moving softly over his knuckles.
She's aware of his attention, but chooses her meal before she
lets herself get distracted. Once the menus are set aside, her
amber eyes settled on the man across from her. She smiled at
him, lifting their twined hands to kiss his palm.
Their drink orders are taken before she speaks. "Tell me
something I don't know about you, Gre. Four years, things
happen. People grow. Tell me more about the man you became." She
said softly, gaze direct, yet quietly interested.

His eyes met hers with a soft gaze. He wasn't expecting her to
ask this question.
"The man I've become.... I'm really don't know who I am. I did a
little soul searching. I didn't really find anything. Except
that I wouldn't talk to anyone. I literally became a mute for
four years. Tis' why I don't talk much now. Mostly because of
the women. They annoyed me. So much. Mostly because they weren't
fitting. I've sorta been saving myself. It just...wasn't the
same. Met a monk, stayed at the monastery for about a year. They
don't talk much, so I fit in pretty well. That's also the reason
I became a vegetarian. After I left the monastery, I came here."

She blinked, her brows raising slightly. "I had wondered when
the vegetarian thing happened. You've always been fairly quiet
with anyone not family, love. Serious Full Moon." She teased him
lightly, reaching up and combing her fingers along his cheek.
She paused at the idea of his saving himself.
"You were saving yourself? For me? Or for any female that fit?"
She asked. She tried, very hard, to keep the cynicism out of her
voice. She didn't succeed fully. Her eyes fell to the
tablecloth, her midnight blue nail scraping at some invisible
spot on it. "I talked, shopped, went through my day to day. And
dreaded coming home. After the challenges happened, I left for
two years, took assignments. And traveled everywhere during that
time." She said softly, avoiding his eyes.
"I kept to a lot of the Asian countries. Thailand really was
fascinating. But none of the places felt right, so I never
stayed for more than a few months. A few of the girls tried to
get me to come to various Carnivals. Carnivale in Italy,
Carnival in Rio. Mardi Gras. I hated it all. I was boring the
past four years. I spent most of it studying, learning the arts
of the Crescent Moons." There was plenty she left out of all of
that. One of the facts being that she'd lost most of the female
friends she had.
Their drinks came, and orders were placed. She finally looked up
from the table cloth and met his eyes silently.

Gregor noticed the cynicism and his eyes fell. He wanted her to
know that it was for her. "I'm saving myself for you. I don't
plan to go any other way. Yeah, there were females sniffing
around, a few were shifters, but I told them to fuck off." He
said, grabbing her hand. The look in her eye, he knew that look.
She was leaving something out. He gave her a questioning look,
and took a deep breath. "You know, it's hard to hide things from
me. Especially you. Might as well tell the whole story." He
said, taking a sip of his wine.

Saving himself for her. "When did you plan to come back to me?
When were you going to tell me that all of it was a lie?" She
asked him quietly, sipping her own wine. She was trying not to
be too confrontational, but these were some of the questions she
needed answered.
She set the wineglass down. "You're right, I am hiding things.
And it's because I'm not really ready to say them, right now.
That's something that changed for me, Gre. I don't share my
thoughts and emotions easily anymore. Not with anyone." She said
softly, lifting one of her shoulders in a helpless shrug.

Gre looked down slightly.
"I can't answer that question honestly. I don't know when I was
coming back, but if need be, I would have just... stayed this
way. Until we met again." He said, taking another sip. At her
words, he looked away slightly. He wanted to say sorry, but he
knew it would be of no use.

She sat back, disengaging their hands, her eyes shut for a
moment. He hadn't really had any plan to come back to her. He
said he'd missed her, thought about her, yet at no point did he
plan to come back to her. Lips compressed into a thin line, she
lifted the glass of wine, finishing it. Her other hand balled
into a fist.
Distress put lines on her face that didn't belong there. She
lifted the bottle of wine pouring another glass. The No Moon had
always been too controlled, too contained to make a lot of noise
or slam things. Instead, she carefully set the bottle down.
Silenced for the moment, she didn't look at the man across from
her. She had nothing to say. The truth hurt. If anyone
understood that, Ely did. She'd just have to keep reminding
herself of it.

He sighed and looked her in the eyes.
"You know. I have a question. What would you have done if you
were me? If, by random, you receive a call from someone, telling
you that they know where you live, who you care about, and what
you hold dearest? What if they told you, that if you didn't
leave, that everything would be taken from you?" He asked, now
looking away.

She inhaled a sharp breath. He thought to play this game. "What
would I have done, Gregor? I would have trusted you, loved you
enough to tell you. To explain it. Believed in you enough that
you could make your own decisions and think...for..yourself. I'd
have respected your intelligence and known that you could choose
your path." Her eyes lifted burning a glittering gold.
"Then again, I've never been overprotective or blind where
you're concerned. I've never underestimated you. In truth, I
suppose it's been proven that I overestimated you. Before you
left, I could always trust you. But you never did give me the
same credit." She told him quietly, her tone even, patient, even
straight forward. He pried at things that hurt.
"Once I let you make your decision, I'd have done what No Moons
do. And found the person and eliminated them. Wouldn't have been
the first time." She said coolly. That was a new piece of
information to Gregor. The girl he remembered hated killing.
Even animals.
