Turn Back Time [open, midnight]
DIR By: Kaya Mitsume

A very familiar woman settled down upon the island. Her dark
hair was picked at by the playful breeze, her loose dress
blowing wild around her, first out from her body, then against
it to be shaped around her form, rounded at the abdomen
slightly.
Her hand held that of a little girl, no older than four. A man
stood, holding the little girl's other hand. He near to towers
over the petite woman in height. Silhouetted against the moon,
they are both familiar to the eye, and also strangers. Even
those that had once known them might be confused.

The man turned to his daughter, squeezing her hand gently. His
sweater was protecting him from the cold, and the little girl
was dressed for the weather too. His glasses were there, and he
looked at the woman, smiling gently. But, as he looked around,
realization hit him, and he chuckled a bit.
"It's good to be back." The man said.

The little girl lifted her arms up toward her mother, and though
petite and already carrying one child inside her, Kaya picked
her daughter up with ease. The slight stature of her frame
belied the strength of the little goddess. Despite the cold of
the December wind, she doesn't seem fazed by it.
She moved to take the hand of her husband, tucking her smaller
one in his larger. She looked up at him, an indulgent smile on
her face. "I hear tell that there's a house around here that's
just perfect for us. Like to go find it, my love?" She asked him
softly. This place held so much memory. Good, but the bad was
especially painful. The change came here.

"Of course I would. I just...I have a question.. How? Why are we
back?" The little spider said, walking towards the housing area.
He broke into a slight run, and began to swing around the beach.
He missed it here. So much. He landed next to his wife, smiling
brightly.
"But, we can only get the house that our little Angel approves
of!" He said, tickling Charlotte slightly.

Kaya answered dispassionately. "It's likely that this timeline's
Kaya is no longer here. So, things were made right." She could
only hope the other had been taken along with her. She looked
down at Charlotte as the little girl giggled at her father's
teasing. It put a bit more warmth into eyes that had turned a
cold and hard aquamarine.
"I wonder how Mika is doing. How Freya is, as well. You know
that it's probable that Noonie is going to find you, sooner or
later, right?" Kaya said, looking at Miles. She watched him
swing around like the spider he was. She doesn't seem jealous.
She's a cooler creature than that. If the girl caused problems,
it wasn't hard to fix them.

His ears perked up, and he smiled.
"Mika. Hmm. We should go see her after we go look at the house.
He said, beaming. His eyes lowered at the mention of Noonie's
name. For all she had known, Miles was dead. He shook his head,
and looked at Charlotte, making her hands form the correct
symbols for shooting webs. He put a pair of web shooters on her,
and made her shoot mommy in the chin.

The webbing splatted against Kaya's chin, both of the females
looking at him with a grumbly expression. Charlotte delicately
helped her mother pick it off. Kaya pulled the web off her face,
whispering to Charlotte in an odd language. One she hadn't
taught Miles.
Charlotte took the web from her mother and put it on her
father's face with a quiet splat. She giggled her bell-like
laughter, and tucked her face against her mother's neck, hiding.
Kaya smirked at him, patting the now vaguely solidified matter
on his face companionably. "Little spider, haven't you learned
that us girls stick together?"
As if to make up for it, she chuckled and leaned up, kissing the
side of his neck and avoiding the webbing. Hair plus that
material meant for a helluva time removing it. Experience spoke
here. Lesson had been learned. Let the web dry before wrestling
around in it.
The small child shot a web at the tree, swinging from her
mother's arms, and into the branches. She perched like a little
monkey amongst the bare skeleton of a tree. And proceeded to
climb. The girl doesn't share her mother's fear of heights.

Miles pouted when they used the one language that he hadn't been
taught. "Lorelei, that's not fair! He said as he daughter put
the webbing on his face. He couldn't help but smile. He rolled
his neck instinctively as she kissed it.
He watched Charlotte swing from her mother's hands, and smiled.
He gave Kaya a quick kiss, but not before having Charlotte input
her usual "Eewwww!". He then smiled and followed his daughter,
into the trees.

In a rare show of abilities she hadn't used in some time, the
siren ran out onto the water, skimming the surface of the cold
ocean. A wave of her arms swept the roiling mass beneath her and
carried her as high as her spider and her little girl, who
watched in fascination as her mother did something she'd never
seen.
The water is far too cold to play with, so Lorelei didn't splash
her arachnid as she might have typically. She does allow it to
cool her hands and give her little angel another reason to say,
"Ewww!" as she lays her cold, but not freezing palms on her
husband's neck, and kisses him. A dichotomy of hot and cold. A
cool finger pokes her daughter's nose, earning a squeal from the
little monkey, and a laugh from the siren.
Kaya let the waves recede beneath her, but remained afloat in
the air with the wind. She blew a kiss at Charlotte, and the
child stretched to reach it as if it might be real. She floats,
just out of reach of both of her most cherished things in her
life.

The spider shivers and laughed, kissing her back. He smiled as
she kept herself floating, and hung from the branch.
He smiled as Charlotte reached for the kiss, and he sighed
contently. He watched the love of his life float just out of
reach...For her. If he wanted, and he did, he shot a web at her,
aiming for her wrist, and pulled her into his arms, holding her
bride style.
