Elliot's Favorite Place
By: Tayboski Date: October 16, 2012, 12:39 am

A semi-large, area in the forest marked by a fist print in the
trees at the edge of the circular area. As one ventures deeper
into the area, they can see signs of training and meditation.
Rarely at first, but more and more often as one ventured deeper
into the circular area. Finally, at the center of the area,
there's a large clearing with a camp set up complete with a
first aid kit, a medium sized tent, exercise equipment and even
a mini fridge hooked up to solar powered generator ((don't ask
how Elliot got it)). Whether it be training, or just lounging
around. Most of the time, Elliot can be found here almost as
often as he can be found in his room.

Elliot panted as he ran into his favorite hangout spot and
finally stopped doubling-over and leaning on a tree as he caught
his breath. Normally, the teen may have been amazed at himself
for how far he had run with very few breaks, but at the moment
he was simply sick to his core.
"Tch" Elliot clenched his left fist tightly and lightly hit the
tree he was leaning on before slumping against it and allowing
himself to slide to a sitting position on the ground.
"Useless...", he mumbled. His normally defiant, energy filled
eyes now dull and nearly lifeless as he stared pointlessly at
the ground. Regardless of the circumstances, the teen hated
fleeing from a battle. In some cases, like the one in Silver
City, he'd get over it quickly due to the fact that he and
others would've died if he didn't, but in this case. A case
where he felt he was in the right, but was still forced to flee
AND leave people he'd rather be protecting to save his ass? That
cut him to his core.
"Tch, I might as well be a woman...," Elliot said. The teen then
clenched his fists and squeezed his eyes shut cursing his own
weakness.

Before long, the familiar form of a black leopard slunk from the
shadowed woods. The leopard looked around the area, but chose
not to automatically shift. She sat on her haunches and gazed at
the boy, her tail flicking in a slow and relaxed motion. The
yellow-green eyes seem to look deeply inside him.
She padded forward, coming a slight bit closer, and laying down.
There's a vague tremble over her muscles. It's odd, unless one
takes into consideration that this might be the reaction to fear
and adrenaline.

At first, the teen didn't notice the leopard's arrival; his head
was buried between his arms as he shook with a quiet rage at his
cousin, at the situation, and himself. He would rage, calm,
rage, calm, then rage again as he fought an internal war to calm
himself. It looked as if this internal battle would go on for a
while, but suddenly, a warm, gentle breeze wafted through the
area carrying with it the soft smell of distant lavender
flowers, a calming aura, and a hushed whisper that could barely
be heard. All of with would feel oddly familiar to Lya...
The breeze washed over them like a gentle wave slowly soothing
both Lya and Elliot like a drug as it circled the area. The
trees rustled loudly and hypnotically, almost as though they
were moving as the whole area grew slightly brighter as though
in a daydream. The teen's shaking slowly died down as Elliot
finally calmed down. After a few more moments, the teen had
lifted his head and let it gently hit against the tree behind
him with a soft thunk smiling at something that could not be
seen.
"Thank you Yggdrasil, you always know just what to say...," the
teen said softly. Then as though on cue, the sudden breeze
drifted away carrying it's calming effects and whispers with it
as it slowly dissipated and disappeared as suddenly as it had
come. Finally, Elliot opened his eyes and blinked in surprise at
the Leopard laying across from him. The teen jumped slightly and
placed on hand on the ground getting ready to run before he
finally recognized the Leopard as Lya and his shoulders dropped
in relief.
"Oh, it's you Lya... so it's all over already?" Elliot asked on
impulse. The teen frowned slightly showing that he was still
displeased with the outcome of the day's events, but his
demeanor was still calm, almost as though nothing could faze him
at the moment. Lya would feel the same way, and the both of them
shared a faint glow as though they were blessed by some kind of
higher being.

The big cat became the form of the woman, and she sat Indian
style. The feeling of peace, of calm, was a welcome one to the
No Moon, and she sat with her head lowered for long moments. Lya
lifted it, to look at Elliot as he addressed her, his words a
little less than thought out.
"One love feeds the fire. One heart burns desire. Wonder who's
cryin' now? I didn't come here lookin' for a fight, but if
you're gonna bark, boy, you better have a bite. I ain't been
crazy in a really long time, but you're gonna meet a good friend
of mine." Though the words might first read as a threat, Ely's
tone, her voice belies them. She's tired, both physically and
mentally.
"I've tried, but I just can't take it. I'd rather fight than
just fake it. Can't take too much of a good thing. I hate that
feeling inside, but when we're at our worst, I miss the misery."
She rubbed at her forehead. "I think he got jealous." Said the
No Moon, matter of fact.
"Too much is not enough. Nobody said this stuff makes any sense.
The point of no return, see how the buildings burn, light up the
night. Such a pretty sight. Adrenaline keeps me in the game.
Adrenaline, you don't even feel the pain. Wilder than your
wildest dreams, when you're going to extremes." These words,
though true, come out flat, and in their own way, a little bit
on the bitter side. "I can't control him. I feel the pain he
placed inside."

/>"!!?!?!"
Elliot was thoroughly confused about what just happened as Lya
finished speaking at first, but he soon realized that Lya was
just playing a sort of riddle game with him and sighed. After
thinking for a few moments, he opened his mouth to respond in
kind, but all that came out was a feeble "what!?"
((Sorry, I had something but got distracted and lost it! >.<))

She gave a small, weary chuckle. "Without trust, there can be no
love. It's wearing me thin, wearing me out. Try to think through
what I can do." She sighed, opening her hands. The next words
sound like an accusation or a demand, though not directed at
Elliot. "Take what you want from me. Take everything from me.
Not so easy to forgive. Harder to forget." It's a bitter thing
she says, her face betraying the emotion as she near to spits
the words.
She laid on her back, staring at the sky, trying to stem the
flow of old irritation and older venom. The wounds hadn't
properly healed. "Am I just another trip in this strange
relationship? Push and pull me again. I'm about to lose my mind.
Is this just a waste of time?
Keep acting like he owns me. I keep running, watch me walking
out that door. Gimme that strange relationship, never felt
pleasure and pain like this. Something so right, but it feels so
terribly wrong, but I keep holding on. Break free of these mind
games, cuz I can't contain him." Ely's eyes closed, a quiet
whimper stifled low in her throat.
"I'm not the girl he knew before. Now, he says he's sorry for
being so untrue. Well, he can cry me a river, cuz I cried a
river over him. I remember all that he said. Told me he was
through with me. Now, he says he loves me." The words were soft,
almost a hiss. "He can trust me not to drink, and not to sleep
around. But he won't expect too much from me, as to not be let
down."

Elliot's mouth opened and closed several times but no words came
from the movements because he didn't know what to say. A small
storm of thoughts and feelings had captured his words and locked
them away before he could voice an opinion and now he would have
to work his way through them before he could find what he wanted
to say.
On one hand, the teen was surprised at what he was hearing.
Somehow, he had got it into his head that since Lya and Gregor
were destined to be together, their relationship was all roses
and sunshine, yet now he's hearing that that wasn't the case at
all and Lya seemed to be distraught. What had his cousin done
wrong to cause this? And was it really his fault? On another
hand, he was worried. From the sounds of things, Elliot thought
that Lya was ready to end things and he honestly didn't want
that. The teen was always a bit happy that his cousin and his
friend(?) had hooked up and was partially looking forward to
seeing them stay together for a very, very long time. And
finally, on a mysterious third hand, the teen had a feeling. He
didn't know what this feeling was, but it was something odd...
Something out of place for the situation... Could it be...
happiness? Hope? Nah, that was ridiculous! How could he possibly
be happy about this!?!?
After shaking his head to pull himself out of his thinking, the
teen firmly clasped Lya's shoulders and looked her directly in
the eyes. "Calm down Lya," he began, "I'm not sure what happened
between you and Gregor, but I'm sure things aren't as bad as you
say they are. I mean, I know things have changed since we were
young; we ALL have, but you guys had fun together back then and
I'm sure you still have fun now. I mean, sure, Gregor is an
idiot and he may need to be smacked around a few times in order
to get a point across, but deep down, he's a good guy! And you
wouldn't be with him now if you didn't love him and think so too
right? I don't know what his problem is lately, but just give
him some time; he'll come around. Afterall, even if I AM just
his worthless cousin, we're still family, and family knows these
things."
Elliot smiles as he finishes his stuffed-crust-extra-cheesy
speech when for some reason, he felt like he wanted to cry.
Every word he said in Gregor's favor had cut him surprisingly
deep in more ways than one as Elliot puzzled over the aching
feeling in his chest. And as he sat there, with Lya's scent
becoming more and more overwhelming as the feeling started to
grow, his eyes widened a bit and the color drained from his face
as he started to figure out why he was beginning to feel these
things and why Gregor had said what he said earlier.
"Umm... I haveta go... I just remembered something I haveta
do...," the teen said abruptly and quickly stood up and began to
leave. The Crescent Moon walked at a normal pace at first so as
not to arouse too much suspicion, but he began to gradually pick
up the pace as he created more distance between him and Lya
until finally, he broke into a run when he was sure he was out
of her line of sight.
"My god... I thought those feelings were dead," Elliot thought
covering his face as he ran. he wasn't sure how Gregor figured
it out when not even he, Lya, or the spirits around Elliot had
known, but, somehow, the crush he had had on Lya when they were
little had returned. And now, the teen feared that it might be
even stronger than it was before...

Ely kept her head lowered as he gave his speech. She didn't try
and disabuse him of his notions, romanticized as they were. He
had a vision of how things were, and that's exactly as he'd
believe it. Why should he believe any different when that was
how it had always been? Why should he see the differences in
her?
She registered his words, the dawning realization, perhaps
almost horror in them. Her head lifted, her eyes curious and
confused, to watch him backing away from her, face gone pale as
he practically hurried off, though he really did try and make it
seem different. What on Earth?
The boy disappeared into the forest, leaving behind a very
confused No Moon. The hell was going on? Lya stood slowly,
brushing away signs of her distress and tucking her deeper
issues. None had understood before, nor would they now. Perhaps
it might be best to stop trying. Keep hiding it inside. It might
become bearable, sooner or later. One No Moon took her leave.
