Your Face, It Haunts...[limited/invite only, early eve.]

The No Moon carried her MP3 player, but the ear buds hung around
her neck lightly. The music played clearly, Evanescence, little
doubt of that. But the wearied shifter sat on a rock, perched
really. Her amber eyes a bit tired from restless and sleepless
nights. The dreams, they kept coming back. Again and again.
Everytime she shut her eyes, he was there, staring at her with
his dark eyes cold and craven.
She just wanted a peaceful moment. A second to sleep. No dreams,
nothing disturbing her. As if answering her prayers, her lids
began to droop, heavy and leaden. She slumped to sit on the
ground, letting her head rest back slightly. Just a little rest.
It couldn't hurt.

Or could it? The man that haunts her. The man stalking her
dreams. As her eyes shut, she sees him once more. A smile,
devious. Hes crouched down before her where she attempts to
sleep. His hand creeps slowly tward her, fear paralyzes the
girl. Closer, closer... And as he is about to place his hand on
her... Her eyes shoot open, a reflex of fear. The man is gone,
or rather, was never there. Yet... His scent.... is it in the
air? Its enough to pick up...faint enough to have been
imagined...

She slunk back against the rock, a scream frozen in her throat,
muscles paralyzed in that bodily rush of fear. Cognac eyes
widened, doe eyes in a face drained of blood. Her lone thought,
terror galloping after it, He found me again. He's found me.
He'll hurt them.
Her body jerks, spasming with the strain of her muscles locked,
causing her head to jerk slightly. It confused her just enough.
Had she dreamed that? Did she really just see him right in front
of her? Her nose twitched, the scent registering. It struck
every danger alarm in her mind, and she proceeded to skitter
back and around the rock as quickly as she could. Elyana, sent
to crawling again because of him.

She tried to slink away. A worm from a bird, it would seem to
the audience of this show. But where is the bird? Does he
circle? There is no sign of him. There never was. Even that
scent she believed so strongly in is absent. It festers in her
head, but not in her nose. Its nowhere outside of her mind.

Heart pounding, she scooted back and away. She whimpered,
getting to her feet, and throwing herself headlong into the
trees around her, taking off at a dead run. The scent existed
only in her mind, but it had the ability to make her blind with
panic. It always had.
Her exhausted mind couldn't make heads or tails of what was real
or what might be simply echoes of her darkest nightmares. She
shifted, into the black leopard she was so fond of, and her
lithe midnight body ate up the ground under her paws. The
information given her through the senses of the cat isn't
processed. Her human brain is still terrified she might hear
something pursuing her.
