A melody on the waves [10/31, sunrise, open]

Mika walked along the beach slowly. The sun was just peaking up
over the horizon and most were still asleep. She walked close
to the waves letting them surge up around her ankles. A
peaceful walk, no sound other than that of the ocean and the
wind. Her hair blew about lightly as she walked. Enjoying the
moment to herself she summoned her violin. As she continued to
walk she gently rested the instrument on her shoulder and drew
the bow across the strings. She played a soft melody, a hint of
sadness was behind it, but it was much more light than anything
she had played recently. Her mind was starting to open again
slowly, and it was reflected in the melody.

As she walked along the beach she continued to play. Finally
she stumbled across a small rock formation that looked like she
could sit on. Without a break in the melody, she softly spread
her wings and flew up to sit on top of the rocks. Her bow
continued it's dance with the strings as the gentle song
continued. Finally the song came to an end. The final notes
hung in the air for a few seconds, the crisp dark tones filling
the beach. She lowered the instrument lightly setting it on her
lap, her fingers tracing the shape of the violin and the strings
as she looked out over the ocean.

As she played, a wolf, black as midnight, plunged in and out of
the waves, seeming to be playing with the waves as they rushed
forth and retreated. She snapped those playful jaws at them,
then ducked back out of the water just as quickly.
In a blink of an eye, wolf had become a woman, dark of hair and
golden of skin. She wasn't tall, but curvy and graceful rather.
Still, she played her game with the waves, as well. Moving a bit
like an otter or a dolphin, it almost looked as if the ocean
could be a second home. A sparkling laugh rode the wind, like
bubbles in champagne.

Mika had watched the wolf with a soft smile as she played,
smiling as it played in the waves. As the wolf shifted into a
woman she tilted her head slightly. The shift took her by
surprise. As the song had finished she laughed at herself
internally, thinking something to the tune of after everything
you are, have seen, and have been through a wolf shifting into a
woman is what surprises you.
When she set the instrument down, she fluttered lightly to the
sand below. She walked quietly closer to the waves to see the
woman better. She smiled softly as she let the waves splash
lightly about her ankles.

Up closer, the high cheekbones and delicately stubborn chin made
her face arrestingly beautiful, yet definitely of a Slavic bent.
Long dark lashes framed eyes the color of cognac. A dark and
brooding beauty if she let herself go that way, the shape
shifter's smile is a little bit of mischief, a little bit of
vivacity, some charm, and equal parts devil and angel.
She seems either unaware of Mika's presence or unbothered by it.
It becomes fairly obvious it's the latter when a splash of sea
water is directed at Mika, the dark haired beauty now facing her
with a smirk.

Mika was quietly observing the woman's features, trying to
figure her out quietly, when she was met with the sea water
assault. Shaking her head lightly as she cleared her vision of
the salt water she smiled back at the other, the corners of her
lips turning up in a playful smile.
A shadow swirled around her and she disappeared, reappearing
behind the woman casting a bit of sea water in her direction.
She hung in the air fluttering softly over the waves.
