No Light, No Light [closed, Gre and Ely, night]
By: Elyana Romanov Date: September 22, 2012, 10:17 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
"I want her. Gregor isn't here to claim her any longer. I
demand my chance as one of the alpha males. You cannot deny us a
chance to win a worthy mate, Xander." Came a cold male voice.
Even in her sleep, Elyana jerked as she heard that familiar
tone. Those words. The growl of frustration that came from
inside her father still had the power to chill her, as well.
Resigned, frustrated, trapped. Unable to protect his only
daughter, mostly by ancient and outdated laws. Laws that
       remained unchanged.
"Fine. You will all have the chance you seek. Over the next
weeks, you'll each get a chance at finding her and bringing her
in. If you manage, she's yours. But you must be able to get her
back here to claim her." He clarified, trying to protect his
daughter's innocence as he could. He hated that law the most,
and wouldn't stand for seeing her so abused. So broken.
Weeks passed, one a week, each failing again and again. Until
she was left with the one she most dreaded. Straight to her
bones. The rest didn't scare her. He did. He had a coldness in
him that chilled her straight to her bones. She felt completely
exhausted. Not sleeping well, plus these weekly nightmares. And
someone had been following her. She occasionally got the glance
of a scent before it disappeared.
She took off into the forest, her foots steps graceful, light
and quick. She left no scent as she moved, and had vanished from
the eye. She tried to take the shape of a crow, attempting to
wing herself out of the danger. And found she couldn't. The only
form that came to her was the one that she'd been naturally born
with. Horror dawned as she tried again and again as she moved,
       only to come up emptyhanded.
Outside of the dream, a very low and quiet distressed whimper
came from Elyana as she laid curled with her mate. Her hand
curled into itself, becoming a fist. Her very sharp nails
pierced the palm of her hand, blood seeping from beneath her
claws. Her face contorted slightly, her body giving one very
       faint twitch.

Gre looked at Ely, his hands wrapping around hers. She must be
having nightmares again. He kissed her forehead and ran his
       hands through her hair.
"Ely. It's ok. I'm here now."

She doesn't awaken. Instead, his use of the nickname gets
twisted within the dream. "E-ly. Eee-ly. I know you're here,
Ely. I can smell you. All that time he had you, and he never
laid claim over that virgin territory of his. Well, he made a
big mistake. Or did you hold out from him. Are you a frigid
little b****, Ely? Most of the other b****es are. Little ice
       b**** with a frozen c***."
For now, he simply chased her, kept her on the move. It seemed
like whenever she found a spot she might be able to hide for a
time, he somehow found her, appeared to chase her off. He played
with her. Her heart pounded and her mind raced with terror as
she realized that he literally could bring her down at any
point. He was just enjoying her fear too much to do it right at
this moment. How did he know? How did he keep on finding her?
Why couldn't she use her other forms?
Finally, she moved to being a wolf for the stamina, the
longevity, the endurance. Her lungs stopped burning, her muscles
stopped, as well. The only reason she hesitated to take this
form was for the claiming rights. He had to take her in this
form. If it was against her will, she had to be taken as a wolf.
She didn't understand it, but it was simply their law. That had
been the moment he'd been prepared for.
Ely curled herself into a ball on the bed beside Gregor, her
body trembling violently. Her muscles twitched in memory of
those weeks of trials. Her breath came in painful pants.

Gregor watched as she trembled, pulling her closer, and rubbing
his cheek against hers. Now, he was worried. He tried to comfort
       her.
       "I'm here. It's okay..Your safe now,I promise." He whispered
       into her ear.

It seemed he had cause to be worried. She was reacting more
violently than she should be to a simple nightmare. As his cheek
rested against hers, and he tried to give that comforting
whisper, he found himself a spectator to the sort of sport that
made good men sick. The type of behavior that made honorable men
wish to do murder. That might make a protective man insane.
He watched Ely be trapped. Run aground was far more like it. She
hunkered down in that beautiful black wolven form of hers. A
wall, too high for her to climb or jump in either of her forms.
Closed in, boxed in, caged. It wasn't hard to figure out why Ely
hated enclosed spaces now. Out from the forest came the dark
form of Brutus. The very juxtaposition of Gregor's golden looks,
and Brutus' shadows is a striking thing. He still stood
       mockingly in his own form.
Ever valient, Ely snarled a clear warning at the man as he tried
to draw closer. She snapped her jaws, landing a clear blow on
him, one that would likely scar. That same casual ease that he
stalked her with, he reached out and cuffed her across the
muzzle. She went flying, and wolf became woman in a bid to gain
her feet. She had been stunned by the blow, there was little
doubt of it. Her lip bled, as did her nose. She managed to keep
her feet beneath her, but barely, as she skidded on hands, a
       knee and a foot.
She tried to shift back to being a wolf. She knew she was
stronger in that form. But it wouldn't come. He smiled cruelly
at her. "You'll be my b**ch when I say you're my b**ch, and not
before." He clattered beads together that wrapped the hand that
had cuffed her. She skittered back, over the ground away from,
and even that seemed to give him some sort of pleasure to see.
It was painful to see such a proud woman as his Ely crawling
over the ground, because it was her only means of escape.
He let her break free again and again, only to finally lose his
patience with waiting. It wasn't hard to catch Ely, despite the
fight that she had left in her. And fight she did, tearing
furrows in his hide for touching her. It didn't seem to faze
him. He still scooped her up, pressing her front rough to the
tree, the bark scraping against her delicate skin, welting it,
       bleeding it.
And then the nightmare became more that just memory. Because it
detoured from what he knew to be right and true. He watched the
worst happen. watched Ely bleed, refuse to cry, refuse to
scream, though the look on her face says very clearly how much
it hurt. Instead, he watched his Ely die. That light that made
her who she was dimming, guttering out. The nightmare became
worse as she was forced to be a wolf, the clack of the beads
haunting. And, by their laws, he saw the man steal away his
       mate, claiming her totally.
It is shattering. The look on her face is moreso.

Gre looked around, wondering where he was, and the snarl got his
attention. He saw the figure and already knew who it was. He
shifted into a wolf, growling lightly at the shadow. When he got
no reaction, he ran and tried to attack, but he actually ran
       through the shadow.
When he threw her, Gre went insane, running to catch her. Again,
no reaction. He looked at her, his eyes pleading. "Ely...Get
up.. You gotta get up. Get up and run away."
She even tried to shift. Into a wolf. She knew how dangerous
that was. He looked at Brutus, growling again. He tried to
attack, again. Over and over. His stamina was great, so he
       wasn't getting tired.
Suddenly, it dawned on him. He couldn't help her. It was a
nightmare. His head began to spin. He watched Ely crawl away.
Crawl away from Brutus. Again, he pleaded with Ely. His own
       tears were falling now.
       "Ely. Get up!!! Now!!!.
He saw everything. He scooped her up, with ease. He saw her
fight back, and tried to tell himself that it was still Ely. He
saw Brutus push her against the tree. That sent him over the
edge. He turned into a wolf, running at the madman. He tried to
attack. Bite. Kick. Do something. Why did he try? He knew he
couldn't help. Because, He loved Ely. That was why he kept
       trying.
He thought it was over, but no. Nightmare kept going. He watched
her refuse to scream, refuse to cry.
"Dammit Ely, Scream!!!! Do something!!!!! Where the hell is
Elliot??" He yelled at Ely, knowing he couldn't hear her. She
was forced into a wolf. He saw everything. He saw his Ely die,
and he saw Brutus claim her as mate.
"No..." He cried, shaking his head. "It wasn't supposed to
happen like that. It wasn't. His legs gave out, and he was
forced to the floor. "Ely... No. This wasn't supposed to happen.
The tears came freely now. He cursed himself. For leaving. For
being helpless. For not being able to do anything. This opened
       his eyes to three things.
1). He was never, ever leaving Ely again.
       2) He needed to get stronger.
       3) Brutus had to die.

The nightmare let them both go at nearly the same time. His arms
were still around Elyana. It becomes glaringly obvious that
though both are technically released from the brutal nightmare,
Ely feels as if she might still be inside it. She shuddered, a
chilling snarl coming from her mouth, The kind of snarl not
often heard from a No Moon.
He's never seen Ely so close to being lost to her rage. Those
golden eyes had red bleeding through them. Her claws lengthened,
more like razors at the end of her fingers now. Her teeth
sharpened, fangs glittering. She wouldn't purposefully hurt
Gregor. Very few others would be safe if he didn't calm her.

Gregor looked at Ely, frowning. He grabbed her hands, twinning
her fingers with his. He placed his lips on her forehead, trying
       to calm her down.
       "It's okay, Ely. It's okay. I'm here. I'll keep you safe. I
promise." He said, rocking her gently.

His fingers tried to twine with hers, but she's having none of
that. Her claws nicked him as she pulled her hands away. It felt
too much like being helpless, being kept that way.
His voice, though. His voice she knew. Somewhere, something
other than the beast knew it. But that was what still had a bit
of control. She turned her head, sniffing at him. She stalked
forward, over him, following her nose, more canine than human at
the moment. She started at his feet and moved very thoroughly up
       his form.
