       Time For A Hunt (10/16, open-ish, night)
By: Gregor Nye Date: September 19, 2012, 3:54 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
A certain wolf was trailing up a path, his nose to the ground,
sniffing. Any that would look, knew that this wolf was hunting.
That meant, stay the hell out of its way.

Another wolf, midnight fur thick and full, had her nose to the
ground beside him. She raised her head, a flick of her ear, as
she scented the air. Her tail whisked lightly at the air. But
her body went absolutely still as her nose caught the traces of
something. Her ears flattened slightly. Nose still to the
       ground, she began jogging.

Gregor saw Elyana's reaction and started jogging next to her. It
wasn't hard. At all. He looked at her and asked her an important
question: "What has you so riled up?"

Her nose still to the ground, Ely's eyes met his. "Mountain
River clan scent. They're the one's that lost the Alpha's
daughter." She said, jogging easily as she tracked the scent.
"The only other clan scent I expect to find here is the Red
Sunrise clan. They lost one of their mutts." She said, ears
shifting to catch sounds around them both.
She lfited her head for a moment. "Speaking of mutts, we should
let ours know about the dangers here. The person killing us
shifters doesn't care whether they change or not. He's got the
blood, so he might be a target." She said grimly.

He stopped and shifted to his own form, scratching his chin.
"Hmm... I see. That may pose problems " he said, shifting back
into a wolf. He nudged her head with his and followed the scent.

She nudged him back, tracking the scent further up the mountain.
Before long, both of them lost it, however. As if it just
stopped being there. It was odd. No trail led back down the
mountain. Ely plunked her hindquarters down on the ground, head
swivelling. Her brow furrowed and her golden eyes puzzled. She
moved to the trees around them both, sniffing at them, to see if
       she caught a scent.
She turned her head back to Gregor, growling out her puzzlement
to him. "The scent vanished. The fuck."

He sniffed around, looking for the scent. He looked everywhere,
but, nothing. The wolf seemed to let out a sigh, then lay on the
       ground.
"This is weird, I don't like this feeling.." He said, moving
       next to Ely.

She gave a snort of frustration, her ears laying back to her
head. "It's horrid. I don't get it. And I really don't like it.
It isn't as if we're these weakling easy targets. How could
something just make us disappear that way? I don't think we
should look into this if we aren't together, Gre." She laid her
head over his back after she gave his cheek a lick.

His eyes were scanning the area. He was in defensive mode right
now. Nothing disturbs him or his mate, anything that does may
       suffer.
He gave a low growl, to agree with his lover. His trail Flicked
       back and forth lightly.

Her lush tail beat a soft tattoo on the ground for a moment as
she gave another lupine sigh. She nudged her mate, getting to
her feet. "Let's be away from here. I don't know how they took
Celia, but I don't like it here. We need to let Jess know not to
come up here alone. Do you think the pup can be trusted with
that information? Or will he do something stupid?" Gregor knew
his cousin better than she did. The young male tended to keep
       his distance.
"It seems fairly likely that we have the start of a pack here.
You, me, Jess, the pup if he wants to be a part of something.
We're just missing a couple of others, but it'll work. Feel up
to starting our own, Gre?" She set up a trot back down the
mountain to other parts that smelled less tainted to her nose.
It led them to the less explored side, off the trails. No human
smells to be found. Far more home to a wolf, that way. She
disappeared into the underbrush, and then really did disappear.
He knows this game. Very well, in fact. It was only a matter of
time before she pounced on him. It might simply be a question of
when and in which of her forms. Never could guess with his mate.
