Never insinuate pity on a Spartan woman. They'd spit fire at
you. Which it's fairly obvious she's about to do.

Her back straightened. "Yes, I doubted whether you spoke truth.
It's a bit different than having your loyalty doubted. Having
whether you're faithful questioned. And being called a liar on
top of that. Being nothing but honest and open, never hiding
what you feel, giving no reason to be doubted, yet still having
it happen. Even you understood why I said what I did to you. Or
that's what you told me." She said. Yep, a bit more spirit now.

made her angry, to counter the sadness. One would question this
method, but, it worked.

She paused, the anger fading from her face. "No. I'm not." She
smiled slightly, humor in her eyes. "You're one of the only
people who would attempt that." She laughed softly, moving
toward him, and coming to her toes to kiss him lightly on the
lips. "Hello, little spider."

She nodded her head, tilting it. "I really should know that by
now." She told him. She slid her hand into his, twining their
fingers together. "No more being sad." She said, a glint in her
eye. No, now she was definitely angry. Just not at Miles.

Some light in her eyes struck him that this may have been
exactly what she would have looked like in the past, as a Greek.
Her chin tilted, her jaw tightened. And her Aegean eyes were a
tumult. "Because it's better being angry than it is being sad.
Spartan women fight, we don't just give up." She said to him
lightly. She as a woman who could aim her anger, and not let it
spill over to others.
"What were you up to, little spider?" She asked him, steering
their path from her own emotions.
