The begining of a Journey [8/21, sunrise, closed]
By: Mika Sasaki Date: August 21, 2012, 12:36 am

The morning air had a hint of a chill as Mika walked up to the
boat dock. Glad for the layers she wore she pulled her jacket
tighter around her. She readjusted her bag on her shoulder and
ran her fingers lightly over the pendant that hung about her
neck. The sun was just peeking over the horizon and her steps
almost echoed on the wooden surface. She looked around for a
boat, the one she had been told would be waiting for her. With
a light sigh she continued farther out the dock till she arrived
at a boat.

It looks built in a very ancient method. Mika has a moment to
think that this must be what the Greek ships looked like,
sailing the Aegean to Troy. A board is slid to the dock, a man
holding it steady.
She climbs this boarding plank, and is stopped before the man.
He looks pointedly at her neck, moving her collar until he can
see the pendant. Mika has a moment to feel uncomfortable at the
look of the man, before a lightly tanned hand closed around the
hand that touched her.
The hand is connected to someone very familiar. Hunter's green
eyes are gazing at her for long moments before he shifts his
gaze to the man. That leaf green gaze hardens, and he addresses
the man in a harsh language.
He leads her carefully onto the ship, telling her softly, "Stay
at my side. Do not stray far. These men are...rough. They are
cursed."

Mika's heart was racing as the man on thye boat studied her.
The uncomfortable feeling was settling over her fast as the hand
was placed over her collar. She was trying to compose herself
when the familiar hand was placed over the others mans. Upon
hearing Hunters voice she turned to him a look of releif clearly
coming over her face. She took his hand and squeezed it before
nodding at his words, "Okay, I will stay right here, by you."
She stammered back. Her face telling the tale of how happy she
was to see him. She looked at him and whispered. "I'm glad you
are here."

Hunter slid an arm around her both as a means to keep her safe
and near, but also as a claiming gesture. He steered them both
to the tail end of the ship, away from prying eyes and listening
ears.
He pulled her into an embrace when they reached their
destination. "I wouldn't let you do this on your own, sweet
angel. Luckily, Lady Persephone is woman who likes romantic
tales. The idea of a knight determined to protect his queen sat
well with her." He said, lowering his head to speak to her
quietly. "It was wonderful to know you agreed to help me. I
still have trouble believing you'd feel the need to. Somewhere,
someone was good to me. They sent you."

As Hunter slipped his arm around her she instinctively fell in
closer to him. Glad to be heading back away from the others on
the boat, she sighed lightly. She was glad to have a moment
alone with Hunter.
When pulled into the embrace Mika's head rests softly against
his chest. "I am more than glad to have my knight here with me.
I already feel more confident." When he spoke the last words
she blushed slightly. "Of course I would agree to help you, you
are very important to me. Anything I could do to help I would
do." She said quietly, keeping her head against him. "You
watch over me all the time. I want to be able to do the same.
I already knew something was good to be that you have watched
over me for so long."
She looked up at him after a moment. "So this ship is the first
part of the travels." she said more to herself than anything.
Her mind jumps to his comment about the men on the ship being
cursed. She kept herself pulled close to Hunter the whole time.

His mouth quirked into a smile as he kissed her forehead. "Yes,
they are cursed. Cursed to take us to places that mortal eyes
can't usually see. We're no longer near your island, anymore."
He said.
In answer to what she'd said, he nodded his head. "I'm glad I am
important to you, but I will never take that or you for granted,
little angel." He said lightly, threading his fingers through
her hair. "You have my word on that."

Mika sighed lightly and smiled as Hunters fingers went through
her hair. She knew what he said was true. She looked up at
him, "I know you never will." She looked deep into the green
pools that watched her and she hugged him gently.
She moved a bit looking out over the edge of the ship. She
looked around at the open ocean. Her hands ran softly over the
railing as she steadied herself. She hadn't realized how far
away from the island they had gotten. Looking at the water she
whispered, "Wow." She had never been so far out into the ocean.
She knew this journey would be hard, but that didn't mean she
couldn't appreciate the moments like this. Hunter was there
watching over her, and the water was beautiful.
She turned back to Hunter, "Do you know how far we will travel
on this ship?" she asked curious. She wanted to know how long
they would be around the men on the ship that he was keeping her
away from. She also wanted to make sure she was prepared for
what would be coming. She stepped back into him, feeling safer
the closer she was.
