The World's Oldest Lesson in History [Mika, closed, late night ]
By: Kaya Mitsume Date: August 20, 2012, 6:22 pm

Once more, Mika fell into dreams, and found herself in those
cold, white Halls. Flames burned in the torches, as always.
They're echoing and shadowed. It's almost physically cold, here
in this place. It wasn't this way, last time. Not this bad.

A shiver ran through Mika when she realized where she was. The
shivering continued as the cold seeped into her body. She
wrapped her wings around herself as an attempt at a shield. She
crept through the hall, trying to figure out why she had ended
up here again. After a few moments she dared to speak up,
       "Hello?" she called softly.

As if prompted by the word alone, once more it seemed as if the
sun had come out on a grey day. Kore stepped from behind the
pillar, just as she had when Shinji had disappeared.
Her golden head tilted slightly as she gazed at Mika, but waited
for the girl to say something.

Mika noticed Kore and bowed in respect. "Hello again." she said
quietly. She had to admit that entirely surprised to be back
here, but this time it wasn't for Shinji being missing. She bit
her lower lip nervously, "I'm back again?" she posed the
question carefully. "Shinji made his way back." Her mind
darted to her conversations with Hunter, as she wondered why she
       was back.

Kore steepled her fingers. "When you involve yourself with the
dead, they come back to haunt you. Whether that be physically or
metaphorically. Which do you think this is, child?" Kore asked,
       her tawny head tilted.

Mika sighed lightly and rubbed her temple lightly. "Well
considering ever since I met Hunter in that hospital, I have
spent half of my dreaming hours with him." She said quietly. "I
do have myself rather involved with the dead don't I?" She
looked down. Her mind ran through all the time she had spent
with Hunter, and her conversation with Kaya about her
       involvement in this realm.
She looked at Kore, realizing that instead of a straight answer
she had managed to ramble. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to ramble.
I know I physically spend time with one who is dead." She
rubbed the back of her head lightly. "So I can assume this time
       I'm here because of Hunter?"

Kore inclined her head. "Indeed. You are here because of your
black knight. Tell me how often you've wished to be able to see
him in the day, be able to physically spend time with him. Be
honest in this place." The spring goddess said softly, listening
       to her answer intently.

Mika bit her bottom thinking. "I would not lie. The more time
I've spent with the more I have wished to spend time with him
outside my dreams." She wrapped a lock of hair around her
finger. "Ever since I first found him again, I've wanted to be
able to spend time with him. I would love to be able to have
him here with me physically." She looked down quietly, but then
looked up at Kore, knowing she hadn't hidden the truth.

The spring goddess nodded her head. "You will be given a chance
to retrieve the ability, the right to be able to do this. The
price will be steep, choices will have to be made. Do you think
you can do this, little queen? Do you have the heart and
courage? Do you care for him enough?" The woman asked quietly.

Mika furrowed her brow slightly in thought. She had talked
about this with Hunter once. She looked Kore in the eyes. "The
price is always steep is it not." she said quietly. "I believe
in my heart that I can do this. I have the heart, I trust my
courage on this matter. I care for my knight deeply. He has
been there for me when I needed him the most. If there is
something I can do for him, then I would gladly do it. There
are always choices that need to be made. I think when the time
comes I will be able to make them." She said strongly. If she
could do something for Hunter she would do it. She had decided
that before. "I know it will not be an easy thing, but I am
       ready to do it."
