Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head [8/15, closed, rainy night]
By: Miles Parker Date: August 15, 2012, 10:50 pm

It was pouring down rain, and a certain spider was walking in
the midst of all of it. After all that happened, he had
remembered Kaya. He walked through the forest, eyes red from
crying. He sat under a tree, hugging his knees, humming to
himself. All of those feelings, that he tried to forget, came
back. He cried, and he cried.

Now that he'd begun to remember, the magick that had been buried
while he'd tried to forget was beginning to come back. And it
was tingling with an awareness of the woman that was apparently
so settled into his veins and heart that even a Fate couldn't
unwind the threads. How it ached to know that, somewhere,
something inside him had chosen to re-visit this.
She's nearby. The rain had a significance. It was one of the
many minutae that still remained buried that came back at odd
moments. But sunny days turning rainy was something that struck
close. It rained... Sadness.
That feeling of his that simply screamed Kaya was coming closer.
As were soft footsteps.

When he heard the footsteps, he stepped from behind the tree,
starting at her from behind his glasses. He was still crying,
and his fists were clenched. Not atat her, but the fact that he
was remembering.

Her face is a mess, and she is soaked to the bone. Her arms are
curved protectively around herself. Her arm raised wiping away
what he'd guess are tears on her face. Her hair is gathered back
into a ponytail high on her head. She is supremely unaware of
her surroundings.
At the same time, eyes all around him make themselves known. The
animals of the forest watch over the little goddess. They don't
view him as a threat. Red eyes lifted to the sky, then fall with
alacrity on Miles' form in her path. Her lips compressed, and
she barely makes a sound. But his spider's senses hear that tiny
whimper of animal agony.
She knows it's too late to lie, or to hide that she's been
crying. She says nothing, only standing absolutely still,
refusing to meet his eyes. She likely doesn't realize he's
remembered.

He stepped towards her, and when he was closer, he stepped back.
He looked at her, his eyes burning. He was trying to tell her,
but his voice wouldn't let him. He only mustered up the key
words. "I love you.." He said, quietly, but loud enough for her
to hear him.

Her eyes snapped to his, disbelief and, surprisingly, grief
gazing back at him. "You remembered? Why did you do that? Why
would you do that?" She said, her voice raising slightly. "This
was supposed to help you not hurt anymore! Forgetting me should
have he-helped." Her voice broke on the last sentence,
automatically cringing from the words.
She closed the distance to rap an open hand on his chest, the
flat of her palm striking in frustration and her own pain. It
doesn't hurt him. She can't bring herself to actively do such a
thing. "Why?! Why, why, why?!" She said, her voice falling to a
harsh whisper.

His arms wrap around her. "Because, my love is so strong that a
Fate couldn't get rid of it. I love you and nothing, not even
am immortal being."

Her forehead fell to Miles' chest, and she gave a sob. Her arms
wrapped around him, holding tight. "Little spider, why couldn't
you just let it go? You would have stopped hurting. Now I don't
know what we can do. You're just going to go back to where you
were." Her voice is still the harsh and choked whisper it had
been.
Her eyes closed, shoulders slumping. "And what about Noonie? You
could have been happy with her. Aren't you happy with her?"
Traitorous as always, her nose sought his neck, pulling in his
familiar scent. Sense oriented creature that she was, it soothed
the inner siren like few other things would. It had been that
part that had mourned so heavily. One of the parts, anyway.

He nuzzled her neck, kissing it softly . "I'm fine where I was.
Noonie. I'm happy with her, but you still have my heart." He
said, his nose rubbing her cheek. "Your eyes, as we said our
goodbyes. Can't get them out of my mind, and I find, I can't
hide. From your eyes, the eyes that took me by surprise. That
night you came into my life, when there's moonlight, I see your
eyes. How'd I let you slip away, when I'm longing so, to hold
you. Now I'd die, for one more day, cause there's something I
should have told you. When i looked into your eyes. Why does
distance make us wise? You were the song all along, and before
the song dies, I should tell you, I should tell you, I have
always loved you... You can see it, in my eyes." He said,
looking deep into hers.

Her lips whispered over his neck and cheek as she leaned up with
another sob to twine close in another embrace. She whispered to
him. "No one's left to be the hero of this fairytale gone wrong.
As night will fall, my heart would die alone. I should have told
you to leave, but you're hard to resist when you're on your
knees, begging me.
I tear you down. I make you bleed eternally. Can't help myself
from hurting you when it's hurting me. I don't have wings, so
flying with me won't be easy. I'm not an angel, I'm not an
angel. I hate being that wall that you hit when you feel like
you gave it all. I keep taking the blame, when we both know that
I'll never change." She sniffled quietly.
"I should tell you, I'm disaster. If I could stop time, believe
me, I'd try for you and I. I want you to say you're gonna stay
with me. I die every day that you're away from me. The thought
of you gone makes everything wrong in my life. So stay right
here, right now.
If given half the chance, would I take it all back? It's a fine
romance, but it's left me so undone. It's always darkest before
the dawn. And I'm damned if I do and I'm damned if I don't, so
here's to drinks in the dark at the end of my rope. And I'm
ready to suffer and I'm ready to hope. It's a shot in the dark
and right at my throat, cuz looking for heaven, found the devil
in me. Well, what the hell? I'll let it happen to me.
Oh no, you know I've been a fool. All I know, is I fell in love
with you." She told him, her lips against his skin, not far from
his ear.
