Re: Hunter's Moon

His head leaned back against the tree, eyes closing as he gave a
deep sigh. "And if this visit would take you there for me, would
that change your feelings? If you might need to pay a price to
help me, would it still be worth it, sweet angel? If the price
was steep, would you regret helping me?" He asked, his green
eyes opening and settling piercingly on hers.
He seems to relax his arms from around her, preparing for if
she'd want to move. He's anticipating her wanting to pace or
move in some sort of fashion.

She didn't stand to pace but she did sit up slightly. She
tucked a lock of hair behind her ear, her own eyes staring back
into his. The possibilities of his though danced through her
mind. She bit her lower lip softly in thought, she needed to
collect her thoughts. It was a few moments before she spoke.
"Hunter." she paused lingering on his name. "You are one of the
most important people in my life. I would walk to the
underworld for you. If I could do something to help you then I
would gladly do it. I know that dealings with the underworld do
not come cheap but whatever the price would be I can't imagine
regretting it." She took his hand and squeezed it lightly.
"You are very dear to me, you know that. I would want nothing
more than to help you."

For the first time since he'd found out about the presence of
Shinji, Hunter touched her in a more affectionate manner than
he'd dared since. He cupped her face lightly in both of his
palms, touching his lips to hers lightly. It remained light,
fleeting, gentle.
His hands quickly fell from her face, his lips from hers, as
well. He lowered his eyes, whispering his apologies to her
softly. "I'm sorry. I should not have done that. Please forgive
me, sweet angel." He said, as he waited for her to be angry at
him for taking such a liberty. And putting her in such an
awkward place. "I know you love him, and not me, little angel. I
will not do such a thing again."

Mika had been taken by surprise at his action. The kiss was so
delicate, so soft. Her heart had skipped a beat when she felt
his hands holding her face, his lips on hers. She watched him
apologize unable to react for a moment, she was still caught in
the feel of his lips. She knew why he apologized, but part of
her didn't want him too. Yes she loved Shinji, and he loved her
with all his heart. However that didn't mean that she she was
becoming more and more aware of her feelings for Hunter.
Denying them would be lying to herself. His comfort, his
warmth, his caring for her was something that had made itself
deep inside her.
"Hunter." She whispered, placing a finger softly under his chin,
raising his eyes to hers. Down cast eyes were not fitting for
him. Her own eyes locked on his. Her fingers traces softly
over his cheeks, savoring the feel of them. Her finger gently
traced across the lips that had just found hers. "I am not
angry, please don't apologize." she said softly. She may have
been confused, not because of his action, but by her feelings.
However she could never be angry with him. She moved closer to
him resting her head gently on his chest. Her body sighed into
his. "You're little angel could never be mad at you." she said
squeezing his hand gently.

He looked carefully at her, as if sussing out the truth of what
she said and meant, and slowly, his mouth curved into a smile.
He kissed her fingertips as they brushed his lips.
He cradled her closer to him, his cheek to hers, turning his
nose into her hair, her neck. Part of it was to have her scent
in his nose, and the other was to hide exactly how much what
he'd read in her face had affected him. He whispered to her,
voice very low. "The little queen is good to her knight."

Mika sighed lightly as he kissed her fingertip. Content she
collapsed into how he held her. He always held her so gently.
She reached her hand up and ran it gently through his hair. She
turned her face to him a bit more nuzzling her cheek against
his. She would gladly stay just like this as long as he wanted.
Time seemed to stand still when they were together, and she
cherished every moment. "Of course I am good to my knight. The
little queen wants him to be happy always, he is important too
her." She said with a soft smile. "Possibly more important
than he realizes." She whispered softly barely audible.

His hair is thick, full. The black strands are like unrefined
silk. Still soft, but not so slickly smooth. He feels alive, and
Mika knows that he's doing this for her.
His sharp ears catch her whisper, his arms tightening very
briefly around her, whether in reaction or out of purpose. His
hand lifted, threading it's way into her hair gently. He moved
his lips slightly, brushing over her neck for only seconds,
leaving Mika wondering if it was purposeful.
"Be careful what you tell me, sweet angel. My control is
admirable, but you'd best not let hope bloom where it shouldn't.
You speak of something that dreams are made of for your lowly
knight. But you were never made to be fair and fickle
Guinevere." His voice is low, soft, sweet, and holds a note of
gentle warning. But longing comes through clearly, as well.

Mika smiled as she felt how alive he felt and she sighed deeply.
As his hands traced through her hair her head moved into the
touch almost like a cat. She puzzled for a moment about his
responses but doesn't ask him about it, deciding just to enjoy
the moment.
His words catch her ears. Her eyes drop for a moment. She felt
guilty at the words. She certainly wasn't intentionally trying
to be fickle or lead anyone on. She bit her lower lip in
thought while she twisted a lock of hair around her fingers.
Her emotions were all jumbled, and they swam around her head in
a frenzy. She knew she didn't want to hurt either Hunter or
Shinji.
A few long moments later she realized how long she had been
quiet. She looked up at Hunter again a slightly confused and
apologetic look in her eyes. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to get
lost in my thoughts. I have a bad habit of doing that." She
wrung her hands lightly together.

His hand caught at her smaller ones, stilling their restless
movements. "You never need apologize for thinking your thoughts
or going quiet, little angel. I prize your mind nearly as much
as your spirit." He told her mildly, hand nudging to line her
palm up to his.
He whispered kisses over her face lightly. "Knowing you is why I
gave you that warning. You would never seek to hurt either your
king or I on purpose. As I said, you are no Guinevere. But I
know what I feel for you. And I know that those things you say
will go straight to my heart and head. I am determined to remain
as I am at your side, no matter my own dreams or desires. Only
your happiness matters, in this."

Mika smiled softly at his first words. "I will try to not
apologize for such things, I jus know that some worry
extensively when I retreat into my thoughts for too long." She
said softly helping line their palms up.
At his second statement a quiet knowing look flickers across her
face. She leaned her head on his shoulder. "You're right, I
would never want to hurt either of you." She would be
devistated if she cause one of them pain. She almost let
herself question again why her happiness was so important, but
she knew what Hunter would say. Beings of darkness didn't
always deserve to be happy though. She let those thoughts
quickly slip from her mind as she turned her attention back to
Hunter. She could feel her palms against his and the whispering
kisses and she smiled again.
