moon." Her words were cryptic and well chosen. But death is a
chilling, final note inside them.

Her body relaxes into his arms, but Kaya herself is gone.
There's a part of her consciousness still inside. She's
physically fine. Her mind is not there. He's seen her do this
before. She's likely traveling the winds, her mind simply
winging her outward. Best to protect her body.

She stirred in Haro's arms a few hours later. Her muscles didn't
tense, so much as her body just took on the flow of human
movement, once more. Her eyes held Kaya again as she looked up
at him.

Kaya leads Miles here. She stops in the backyard, looking out at
the view of the sea that she had. The wind blows here, whipping
her hair around her head. The place seems absolutely ideal for
little Lorelai. She looks back at him, seeming like even more of
the siren she is for beingi n her territory and so near to the
sea. "I'm thinking of getting a kitten and a puppy soon."
