The Not So Restricted Restricted Section

A place located toward the back of the library. It's shelves
hold a great many books, most in languages long dead, but also
known for their magickal connotations. Spells and writings of
import could be found here, if someone would but look.

She was already scanning the shelves with her eyes. She answered
him absently, her mind translating as she went. "Yes. Language
is something that an immortal must understand. I remember when
all of these were still spoken, and very much alive." She told
him.
Her head craned, as she looked up. One good thing about having a
boyfriend so much taller than you. The perspective was just
better. "Careful not to touch something unless you show me
first. Some of these might be, uh-" She hesitated on the word.
"Unfriendly." She finished hesitantly.
She hadn't answered what she was looking for.

"unfriendly?" he asked "what do you mean? and what hand would i
touch them with anyway?" he laughed, bouncing her up and down
lightly. "there alittle buisy" he was teasing ofcorse, hes happy
she hadnt made him put her down yet

Whether she simply intuited his thought or she was reading his
mind, she made a face at him. "Keep doin' that, and I will make
you put me down. It's either that, or I'm gonna ruin the
upholstery." It was uncommonly funny that she was quoting a
Disney movie. And Hercules, no less. The little siren actually
hated that movie.
"Unfriendly as in cursed, or just simply dark. Books take in a
part of those who write them, as well as anyone who has owned
them for a long period. Some tomes are just naturally
malicious." She didn't mention any by specific name, but she
would be surprised to hear an Evil Dead or Army of Darkness
quote.

She looked at him blandly. "Spoken like a true scholar's bane.
Oh, Fates, why me? He'll be the very death of me." She rolled
her eyes upward in proper dramatic fashion. "Oh, you plebeian
soul." She shook her head, teasing him.
"May the children get their mother's love of books." She said as
her eyes returned to scanning the books. Blue green orbs
alighted on one copy, distinctly a very old dialect of Japanese.
"Hey, you with the long legs, and the strong arms. Lift me up to
get that one." She pointed at the book she wanted.

"is that japanese?" he asked, the characters looking vaguely
familiar. he did as instructed regardless, lifting her up to it.

She lifted, sliding her fingers carefully over it. She treated
the book like it was delicate, which it very well could have
been. "Correct you are. A very old dialect of it. It's not used
much anymore, lately. Hasn't been in a century or two." Funny
how a century or a two was lately.
She set the book down on the shelf next to her, looking at
others. Out of nowhere, she drops a kiss on his forehead. And
then returns to her search.
