Without realizing it he became extremely hot and began to strip
out of his clothes until he was wearing nothing but his dress
shirt. A Popsicle appeared in his hands and he had an incredible
urge to suck on it.

What is it that I long for she thought to herself, feeling
things that she couldn't control well up inside her. She
stopped and looked at Shinkuru, and suddenly she was hot. She
ripped off her shirt.

Kaya felt her body changing, and rebelled. I don't want this. I
control my body. I control my Spark. No. She gritted her teeth
together, and no pull on her hormones would change her mind. She
was a siren. A being born of the very thing trying to stir
within her. She understood that very thing. It was hers to bend
to her will.
She watched the others changing with a jaundiced and baleful
eye. That only made it more surefire that she wasn't going the
same way. Her eyes lit from within, like lightning in the storm
that roiled in their depths. Mist, crashing water and golden
lightning. All of them contained in those tiny spheres. She
continued moving. If she had to, she'd pit her voice against the
Cavern's pull, any day. If she could get the two to follow her,
get the student and go, it would be okay.

She gritted her teeth, her form still her own. "We're gonna keep
moving, and get through this cavern. You both are going to focus
on my voice. Keep it in your head. Feel it, and follow it. Gonna
have to be my sailors, and trust me to steer you through the
rocks, deal?" She wore a snarl on her face, fierce and
determined.

Mika just nodded at Kaya's direction. She was afraid if she
spoke she'd lose control. Just focus on Kaya's voice, nothing
but kaya's voice. she repeated in her own head.

She began moving, singing in her siren's voice a wordless song.
It needed no words. It was a song that spoke of loneliness. Of
long nights, wishes for comfort. It seemed to beg the both of
them to come and find the owner of that voice. To make all the
ills of the world and the night disappear for just a little
while. And all the while, Kaya moved steadily through the
cavern, eyes on both of the students.

As they proceeded they soon could hear the dragging sound of
chains clinking against he cavern floor. They would find
themselves at the end of a line of souls all chained together. A
man at he front devouring each one.
