She nodded. "I actually learned why people always see things
like that as representations of themselves. It's like it's your
mind's eye making it your idealized self. Like when I astral
project. I see myself like this, as was before I had to leave
behind what I was." She told him, nodding her head.
She took a deep breath, knowing that that was the first step.
Help him understand that. "What if fighting him, and doing all
of this makes the curse worse? What if it weakens you? They won,
at that point. Do you know of any texts that would help you know
of how those who came before you were once they'd found a way to
circumvent the curse?"
Really quite the odd question, but there has to be a reason why
logical Kaya would ask something like it.

of these events is an old story my mother once told me"

Kaya sighed. "Damn, there's no way it could have been so easy.
Of course freaking not." She blew out an impatient breath. Her
eyes narrowed. She looked back up at him. "Something inside me
screams that subjugation by either force is not what is
required. I'm not enough my mother's daughter anymore to be able
to see your lifestrand. But, I'm positive I'm right."
She looks upset with herself for that fact, but there's little
she can do about it. "What do you think?" She asked quietly.

Kaya laughed softly. "Sometimes, men are so wonderfully literal.
It delights me." She shook her head, not wanting him to think
she was picking on him. "Darling, there are things out there
that are the most powerful weapons one could imagine, but they
don't have a single blade or offensive part to them." She
sobered. "It takes years and age to realize such things,
usually."

She looked at him. Sometimes, she forgot the difference in their
years. They looked the same age, but she had years on him. "Koi,
there's a list that goes on. Knowledge is a sword sharper than
any crafted by a man or god. Love is one of the most poignant
and least acknowledged weapons. Mercy, compassion, tolerance."
She opened her hands, this time in a bid for him to see where
she was going.
"Open your mind to more than just something that can cause
naught but bloodshed, violence and pain." She instructed him.

couldnt. "i dont understand. what are you saying? what did my
great grandfather do with his demon?"

She took a breath, closing her eyes. This was how she answered
him. "What brought you both to this fight tonight? What was
the reason you sought to bend the demon to your will, and why
does he fight?" He had to come to the conclusion on his own. She
couldn't tell him.

it was for him to say.
