The dance came to a shattering climax, as both found openings at
the same time. Blades placed at one anothers neck, they caught
in a stalemate. The demon's gold eyes met Haro's blue. And there
they locked. As it were, neither could move without risking more
than either were willing. With Kaya here, if both died, she'd go
with them.
The eyes of the men clash, and both are so intent on one another
that the little demi goddess in the room with them has gone
unnoticed. Not for long, as her twin blades separate their
locked swords, and they're forced away from one another. She
wears an expression of dawning realization.

he was forced back, but haro quickly gained a protective ground

The demon immediately lowered his sword, taking steps back from
his opponent, as well as the little siren. "He's right, little
siren. You do not belong between the swords of the two of us. It
is much too dangerous for you. Please, move for the sanity of
the both of us."
She only looked at the both of them patiently, but sternly. "The
two of you together could attempt with your swords to do me
harm. Neither would succeed. Now stop worrying about me and
listen." She snapped out the words a bit like a general.

haro looked at his demon, then at her, then back. "... can we

The demon made the blade disappear. "A treaty to hear her out.
That is acceptable. I want her as safe as you do, boy." He sat
with his back against the wall.
Kaya herself stood looking at Haro, waiting for him to take a
seat and put away his blade in acknowledgement of the treaty.
When he did, she focused on the floor in front of her again.
With a graceful movement, not unlike the beginning dragged foot
of the tango, she swiped the ground with her foot.
It became clear when heat and light flared, pulsing with dark
and light. She'd erected a barrier,w ith herself being the
dilineating factor. Her blades became tattoos again with a
gesture, and she sat with her palms together.

coin?" She spoke with no preamble or lead up. To brass
tacks.[/i]

haros blade dissapeared same as his, and he sat on the ground to
listen. he looked lost when she said this, however. "what do you
mean? two halfs?"

Kaya sat with her hands outstretched, like the plates of a
scale. "The black and the white, the evil and good, the dark and
the light. I don't think they cursed you with a demon. I think
the curse was a little more insidious than that." Her brow
furrowed in deep thought.
"Mankind is beauty and beast made one inside their mortal shell.
Woven the same way that their lifestrand is. What if their curse
unraveled the weaving, and separated the two? It could virtually
tear both apart, which I'm sure it did, in the beginning." She
looked at him, as if seeing if he had his own thoughts to add to
the mix. Leave it to the child born between the worlds to figure
it out.

be a negitive version of me? why does he look so different?"
haro had a concrete image in his head. the light and dark of him
would be like a negitive in a photo, with black hair, blue skin,
red eyes... but physically a mirror

Kaya nodded her head. "That image you have of the darkside of
yourself would be what he would look like. If you were not
cursed. If you were still twined together as one, you would be
the mirror image of one another. Because one consciousness would
rule, instead of two." She brought her fingers together, then
split them apart.
"In this case, the two were split entirely. He's become what he
would see himself as. You are what you are. You're as different
as night and day, because the nature of the curse forced it to
be so." She paused, thinking of something that would illustrate
her point. A lightbulb went off.
"Have you ever heard someone speak of personal demons, or
fighting one's inner demons. People say that, and they usually
reference their worst qualities.
These things wear their face, because they acknowledge that such
a thing is apart of them. They've made it impossible for you to
be able to know that struggle. At least not that way." She
looked wryly around the room at the battleground, and the males
that sat separated by her. "I don't think those people ever
considered it quite like this."
