Kaya's voice is distant, as if she focused on something else and
spoke from that place. "Yes, your threads bound together once
more. No longer separated, man and beast." She told him.

Kaya stopped focusing. "That's where I'm out of this again.
That'll be between you and the demon. Every coming together is
different, since everybody is different. You two have to figure
out the best way. But I know it has to be you that makes the
first movement toward this." Her attention was once more fully
on Haro. The demon's attention, however, was on Kaya hersellf
still. He appeared fascinated completely with her.

She looked at him, gazing for a moment, and then giving a nod.
The daggers appeared in her hand, and in a small movement, both
sank into her wrist to be coated with her blood. She then paced
the line that only she could actually see.
She brought the blades glittering in her blood to bear, crossing
them. Once more, she seemed to gather the energy back to the
blades. With a scissoring motion of either dagger, the energy
dissipated. The daggers returned to being mere decoration upon
her body, and she simply stood, watching Haro.
She licked at her wrists where either had been nicked much like
a cat. It was to staunch the flow of blood, more than anything.

[i]Before the words were out of Haro's mouth, the dark damascus
steel was already in his hand, the demon poised to defend, but
not to attack. Instead it watched Haro silently, assessingly.
And then it spoke in his mind.
"You doubt the little siren's devotion to you. Why is that?" For
once, it didn't seem as if the demon was needling at Haro,
trying to weaken him. It meant to understand, rather than
attack.
