Miles looked at his hands, then wiped them on his suit. He
looked around, trying to see where the voice was coming from.
"Fuck this...I'm getting out of here." He said, jumping onto the
       wall to climb it.

The wall reacts to him, screaming in a voice that has been
poorly silenced. It bucks him off from it, to the sounds of that
cheerful little giggle. He lands hard on the floor again, though
       he is not stunned.
Where the voice had been centered, a dim light shone. Stepping
into it was a little girl. Her flyaway raven hair was loose. Her
palest moonlight skin was unearthly in it's glimmer in the
light. Even without looking at her eyes, he' struck by the
thought that this could almost be Kaya when she was a little
       girl.
Instead of comforting him, the realization makes it all the more
eerie for him. It brought things a little too close to home. She
spoke again in a sing song sort of voice, "Glad that you care
just enough to stare. Don't let me off put you, or disturb what
you'll do. I like to watch my prey run, it makes my meal more
fun." The girl lifted her eyes, and he found himself gazing back
       at his own.

Miles blinked as he looked at the girl. "Kaya??..." He said,
tilting his head. "No..Kaya's older than you are...." He said,
       looking around for an exit.

That silvery laugh, the little girl equivalent to Kaya's own,
echoes through the room her was in. "I am not the one you hold
in your heart, and yet I am the largest part. She is me, as I am
her. I'll ever be what you'd prefer. To see the future in a
flash, while past will burn itself to ash. A warning of what
will come to pass, lesson unlearned, I'm afraid alas."
She looked at him for a long time, nothing but childlike
innocence on her face, despite the darkness and cruelty of her
words. She waited to see what he would do.

Miles shook his head. "Agh!!! I'm confused." He said, looking at
the child. His suit started to form tendrils.

The little girl shook her head. "Not so bright, child of night.
Problems aren't solved only with might. Learn that lesson, and
you might live. Else Death come and take all you can give." She
stood in that light, looking at him.
She didn't change, only standing and looking like an innocent,
dark hair unruly about her head. "If you wish to struggle, I'll
not hold you back. Come see me, little spider dressed in black."
       She spoke lightly, playfully.

Miles stepped foreward and squatted down to the child. "I wish
not to fight, as I am weak. But I have one question: Why are you
here? " He said, looking at the child.

The little girl held her arms up, asking to be cuddled silently.
"I play in the dark, because it's scary in the light. I only
want friends, but they don't like not having sight. So alone in
shadows I play, until sooner or later, someone comes to stay.
Will you be my friend? For a little while pretend?" Her last
words cut deep. He knows that feeling well.
She looked up at him with those innocent little girl eyes. The
eyes of someone who has been denied any sort of company or
       understanding.

Miles looked at the little girl. "Yes, I'll be your friend." He
       said, smiling.

She smiled happily, silvery giggle echoing around him. She
clapped her hands excitedly. Her face lit up, so reminiscent of
Kaya it made his chest a little tight. "A friend is something I
haven't had before. They usually seem to try and run straight
for the door. I'm glad that you want to stay and play. Is it
possible to have your name, if I may?"
She looked up at him with his own eyes, and still spoke in
riddles and rhymes. She's full of the playful mischief that a
child is. The similarities are unsettling.
