Not just a legend (closed)

He watched as the lock to the restricted area open. With a thank
you to the librarian, shinji walked into the area. He was being
an idiot last, Running around the other island expecting to
found avalo. No this time he would study and find it before
running off.
His eyes scan the labels of the books looking for the 3 Major
books on avalon." Historia, Vita Merlini, or Etymologiae.."

He scans and searches for these books to no avail. The
restricted section is as silent as a tomb, as is the library in
general. Not many people are here, and certainly most stay away
from this section. As he scans, his eyes skip across a tome.
It is bound in supple leather the color of a juniper berry,
tooled beautifully. The title has been seared into the binding
in darkly black, scripted letters. 'Into the Mists' it claimed
itself to be. It magnetically draws the eye again and again, a
curious thing to Shinji's mind.

Shinji picked the book, his fingers traced over the beautiful
words. No, this was Calligraphy at it fines the color of the
tome was beyond beautiful to him. It remind him of a memory he
long forgot, before it he was sitting at a table, with the book
open infront of him.

((I'm just going to use Hunter's account for now, so that I'm
not having to switch logins.))
The parchment of the pages is old, but seems well taken care of.
The pages are not brittle, but they are delicate. The scripted
writing is of a flowing and smooth hand, not quite feminine, but
of practiced penmanship. Someone took pride in their writing.
Still, something about the bold strokes speaks of masculinity.
The first thing written, an entry, is dated 45 BC. It is
difficult to tell the actual date beyond the year, as it is
written strangely. The book is a journal of some sort. Shinji's
eyes register that this is written in an ancient and unused form
of Latin, and that he cannot make heads or tails of it. Then,
before him, he watches the entry become clear and unmistakeable
English.
'Beware, beware the Ides of March.' The lady has spoken. A
warning to our great emperor. One he has not heeded. He still
continues with this fool's mission. He believes, with the
sorceresss at his side, that he is invincible. That this is his
destiny. Even she tried to warn him, for all the good it has
done. His men seek to betray him. His pride will be his
downfall.
I do not wish to see such things befall my emperor. So I went to
the Lake. I did not know the direction I need to go. But I knew
that the witch could be found on her Isle of Apples. Avalon, I
have heard it called. It is a place of dark and witchcraft, but
I am willing to risk my immortal soul that I might seek her
help. She knows. She can tell me.
The next entry is shorter, by far. It's tone is of terror.
I went in search of Avalon. Three days I have been in these
Mists. Lost, with naught to do but pray. I hear the bells of
Glastonbury. I cannot even find those blessed shores. That bell,
it's infernal ringing, is driving me mad. Where is the Lady of
the Lake? What does she want from me? Why will she not show me
the way?

Shinji sighed, closed his eyes and rubbed the bridge of his
nose." I should have known latin, I just hope they have a book
on..." when he open his eyes, he was shock to the words in
english. A bit confused he read the calligraphy.
He sighed at the word witch, he hated that word. He was confused
as to who write this, from the write gave no clue." 45 B.C?
Thats impossible this should be in a history Museum..." he
continued to the more he read, the more this book interest him.
"Avalon?" he heard stories of this place. But he always though
it was nothing more than a legend, some masters told there
students at night. But for it to be really....

The next entry is still a bit dark and foreboding, but holds
less terror within it's words scribed.
I found my way here. The Lady of the Lake parted the mists for
me. Or that is who I believe did so. I never saw her. I only
heard her speak to me. She said, "Poor little lamb." And then
the great fog parted it's veil and I gazed upon a green and lush
isle, a majestic domicile settled upon the cliffside. The skies
were so blue.
I had made a turn for delirious, after days in the sun and no
water. I was barely moving, and found myself talking out loud.
"Fata Morgana" I murmured in my fever dreams, still searching
for the sorceress. Little did I realize, I'd called her name
thrice. Thrice bound, a witch is meant to come upon summoning.
And so she did.
I find myself upon this island. I do not know how I got there. I
awoke in this room, cooled from a bath, rehydrated, and
ravenous. I was naked, my clothing laid freshly cleaned beside
me, and a plate of steaming food beside it. It was as if someone
knew. I sit here now, my mystery hostess still has not shown
herself. I'm not alone.

Shinji ran his fingers throw this hair. This Journal, who ever
owned, went through hell to get to avalon. Shinji was worried,
what if the samething happen to him. What if the lady of the
lake didn't let him through, What if he died at sea? He leaned
back in his chair.
He was use to fear of death, but he made certain that he was
strong enough to face that fear. But the uncertainty is what
scared him the most. The chancehe could die in a never ending
fog, the chance he would lose his sanity in that fog.he was
unsure what would happen but, for now he would finish this
Journal.

As Shinji turned the page to begin reading again, the writing
moved from it's clean English back to it's indecipherable Latin.
It closed it's secrets from him for the day, and he almost
believed he heard the chiming of a woman's laughter, as if it
were all a grand joke. Behind him, in the stacks, something fell
to the floor with a slap, before silenece once more fell. Such a
curious happening.

There on the floor, folded into a neat, rectangular little
package, appears to be a parcel. It's encased in oil cloth and
tied with twine. The little tag upon it clearly reads, in a
feminine and dainty hand, Shinji.
