Did I talk to a GHOST?

church graveyard where it happened
This happened back in October of 1995. I went to a family
reunion at a church with a cemetery. It has some of my ancestors
buried in it. When I got there I didn't see anyone but an
elderly lady walking through the tombstones toward the church.
Her hair was up in a bun like old ladies used to wear and she
had on a light-colored dress.
I asked her if she were here for the reunion and she said yes. I
asked her name and she said Orie. I began to cry because I had
seen her name on the family tree somewhere so it was very
touching.
She sat down on a tombstone. I asked her if she knew my mother
and aunt. She said she did. I cried some more out of
sentimentality. Then she rattled off other names I didn't
recognize. I tried to film her with the camcorder (this was
1995) but it didn't work. It worked perfectly at home. I was so
mad.
I asked Orie where everybody else was and she said in the
church. I went in the church and saw a bunch of relatives but
only knew 2 of them. I tried the camcorder again and it worked
perfectly! I told my cousin that it didn't work outside when I
tried to film Orie. I asked him if he knew Orie and he had to
stop and think. Then he said Orie was long-since dead. I said
but I just talked to her in the cemetery!
I took my cousin back outside to see for himself but she was
gone. I was only in the church for a couple of minutes and an
old lady like that could not have walked off that fast! It's a
wide-open cemetery, like a golf course. But she was nowhere in
sight.
When I got home I looked on the family tree and Orie had died in
1942.

I think you did speak to an ancestor in that one. That is a neat
story and true one. I like hearing that one. I haven't spoken to
a ghost yet but had encounters and sensations. I'll share as we
go. I hope some people see your link you shared at fb. This is a
great one to lead off with.

thanks boo. i think it's strange that she said she was there for
the reunion but wasn't. and the camcorder did not work no matter
how hard i tried to get it to. then it worked when i went inside
the church. and she said she knew my mother and aunt who were
her nieces.
and she sat on the tombstone like it was a park bench. would you
do that? i would never do that.

That is a good story.
We have a picture of my 2nd Great Grandparents house. My Dad
thought it looked like a man was standing by a woman, my
Grandpa's Aunt. Her husband died after he was kicked by a horse.

That is neat Autumn. I'd like to see it too. But I know it's
hard to do it on line. Least for me it is. Thanks if you can.
Hope Al does post here some. And that Ronin comes by that we met
at the other witch's board. Long story there, Autumn. lol

I know an old post but wanted to share of a ghost site at the
Alamo a few years back. We were by the old old well there and
away from people. It was daylight but I turned and there was a
handsome guy leaning against the well smiling at me. He had a
uniform on. I don't know which side he was on. So young though.
Like 16 or so. I'll never forget that image for a fleeting
second. Randy didn't see it. But we went back later and never
saw it again. I heard it was very active there with haunts. I
bet so. Just wanted to share this with you Hazelnut and Autumn
if she is still around. I never got a good explanation what I
saw but had to be a ghost of a soldier there. Very young one.
They did have them fighting at that age. Sorry he lost his life
so early. I keep hoping he was on the good guys side. lol Just
sharing.

that's neat. i remember you told me that once. was he caucasian?
then he must've been on our side. otherwise mexican. i'm just
guessing. he probably thought you were cute and wanted you to
see him. you should be highly honored. an alamo hero doing that.
hugs.

I do feel honored. My writing mind might have triggered it too.
I was real creative that year. But he had a uniform that was
torn some. He was dark haired and white skin. Or lighter skin.
But Mexicans did work on Alamo side too. Confusing then. He was
very handsome. Seemed like a good spirited guy. Sorry he got
caught in that battle whatever side he was on. Maybe he was the
messenger boy. I just needed someone to talk to about it again.
Thanks on that. I might write about him in the ghost experiences
book I might do. Maybe we ought to combine them sometime. Do one
together. Will be fun. I tried to figure out which side but if
he was on other side, he was still redeemed for it and probably
forced into battle he didn't want to do anyway. Sad thing. I
like to think our side though. The lighter skin tone. Agree on
that. He was cute as could be. I'm honored if he thought I was
cute. I do fix up when we go out places. LOL

yes, we should combine our stories and get them published. yours
are far better. but it would be fun. my brother is going to
send a couple of stories to field and stream magazine and hotrod
magazine. he did it years ago but got rejected at one and never
heard from the other. he's going to try again.
maybe we can put his cannibal story in with ours. lol. it's
called Travelers Digest. get it? lol.
