Breathing a sigh of relief, Danny thought, that was a close one.
Must keep a closer eye on Yip and train him some. Play fetch.
Danny fell asleep as he thought of him throwing a stick out for
Yip to fetch. But not anywhere near that horrible witch. He
swore he could hear her cackling in the distance. Shivering a
bit, he went on to sleep finally.

the witch was furious. then she had an idea. it was near
halloween so she planned to get both chip and yip while danny
was out trick or treating. she cackled with delight. that's what
danny heard before he fell asleep.

Danny was so excited Halloween was coming up. He wanted to dress
up as a chipmunk in honor of Chip this year. He couldn't wait to
get all that candy. This year he will share some with his new
pal Chip and doggie Yip. We will have so much fun. But dogs
can't have chocolate so I'll have to see what is safe to give
for Yip. He might end up with an apple. He giggled to himself.

danny's mother bought him a chipmunk costume. danny put it on.
Chip was amused by it. Chip said "i want to go trick or treating
with you." yip said same, yipping with delight. so danny took
them trick or treating with him halloween night.
the witch was MAD. she had planned to grab the critters while
danny was trick or treating. she then resorted to plan b.

She took her broom and flew in the sky following their trail
through their neighborhood. Inwardly, she said, "I'll wait till
they let Danny go up to the door and then I'll grab him when
he's by himself. No Chipmunk is going to scare me a second time.
No sir." I'll have that boy and his Chip and Yip, if it's the
last thing I do. Cackling on her broom, a heavy whiff of wind
nearly caused her to fall off her broomstick. She said well, if
that don't beat all.

danny had told chip and yip to stay right by him at all times.
the witch was beside herself. then she had an idea.
she went to the house next door to the house where danny was. a
little old lady answered and the witch said 'trick or treat'.
"where is your bag, honey?"
"right here," snapped the witch and konked her over the head
with her broomstick, tied her up and gagged her and put her in
the closet. but not before she put on the old lady's clothes and
glasses.
danny rang the doorbell. the witch answered but danny didn't
recognize her.

Danny turned and whispered to Chip, "Something isn't right,
Chip." I think we need help. Let's run for it. I think I heard a
woman in there groaning." Chip agreed and they took off running
with Yip yipping all the way and yipped out, "Wait for me."

the witch was so flustered she jumped on her broomstick and
tried to catch up with them. but she flew into a tree and her
nose got stuck in it. she struggled to get free but to no avail.
she then fainted. other trick or treaters thought she was just a
halloween decoration and laughed and went on.

Witch cursed to herself, I never liked Halloween. The kids
always are a pest and make fun of me. Now I'm stuck in a tree.
And Yip is down there yipping at me. I must get free of this
damned tree.

Danny decided to call the PD and get help for that woman they
heard groaning. The witch had gotten hold of her. The PD got
help to get the witch out of the tree. Then hauled her off to be
arrested. The woman they saved thanked Danny and Chip for saving
her life. She offered to make them some cookies and they happily
agreed.
