what Chip and Danny didn't notice when in the woods was a little
run-down shack behind a tree. a witch lived there. the poodle
knew it and was trying to warn Chip and Danny.

oooh Scary with there Danny thought. He knew they both had to
try and avoid that witch. He thought he heard her cackling off
in the distance. Danny shivered, Little Yipper shivered too. It
was clear to Danny that Chipper and Yipper were becoming fast
friends.

Witch I meant to type. Scary Witch out there boiling her
cauldron and cackling. It sometimes wakes him up hearing her go
on.

chip and danny were grateful to yip for warning them about the
witch. yip told chip that he was a stray. danny kind of knew bc
of his appearance. so he asked his mother if he could adopt him.
and she said yes. but the witch had other plans. she wanted to
eat yip.

One morning, before they took Yip into their home, he wandered
too far near that shack where the witch was. Chip smelled the
danger coming and sent Danny a warning signal that Yip was in
danger and needed their help. Danny immediately got his arsenal
he carried with him every time the witch was a threat, or he was
too near her. He knew there wasn't much time left for poor Yip.

danny decided to wait til that night to investigate under the
cover of darkness. after his mother tucked him in, he got up and
crawled out the window with a flashlight. chip was waiting
outside.

They both wandered into the forest near the hut to see if she
was home. An owl hooted in the distance and wind picked up. They
looked at each other a little frightened but went on to hide
behind a bush near the Witch's hut. Suddenly they heard her
cackling laugh and the boiling in her cauldron. Danny stifled a
scream.

danny peeked in the window. he saw Yip in a cage crying. chip
and danny hatched a plan. while the witch stirred her caldron
and cackled, chip jumped on her head. the witch screeched and
danny grabbed yip and ran out. chip followed.
"i'll get you, danny, and your little chip too!" she spat.

The witch complained to herself, Why did I let that fool
chipmunk make me think a bug fell on my face. Why as she
hollered, I'll get you my pretties. The three of you. cackling
laughter continues.

danny, chip and yip got safely home. danny fed yip and gave chip
a bag of peanuts. chip and yip slept under danny's window that
night behind a bush. danny fell asleep as soon as his head hit
the pillow.
