A boy of 8 years old named Danny discovered his parent's house
had the cutest little chipmunk outside. He loved to chase him
around and decided his name was Chip. He learned in the winter
he went underground from the cold. He missed him a lot then.

Chip had a burrow by an almond tree in the yard. he stored a lot
of nuts for the winter in it.

One morning when Danny was out playing with Chip, he followed
him and found a Walnut tree right there outside their house. He
was so surprised. Danny wasn't too familiar with trees at the
age of 8.

danny looked around and notice there were several nut trees of
different kinds in the yard. a chipmunk paradise.

Danny shook his head chuckling to himself. Danny said out loud
to himself, "My Chip is sure a smart chipmunk. He had it made
out here."

danny and his family had just bought the house so he was still
getting to know the yard.

Danny's yard has 5 acres so he can explore a lot of land if he
wanted to. But his mom makes him stay on the one acre they
fenced in. Where Chip is anyway. A flock of birds were on one
side of the yard and the walnut trees on the other. Chip had it
made in the shade.

it was october and the leaves had turned orange. a cool breeze
whisked the fallen leaves around and Chip chased them. one leaf
flew on the other side of the fence. Chip got thru the fence and
chased it. Danny was afraid Chip would get lost in the woods so
he chased Chip.

Suddenly, Danny heard a dog barking and got really scared with
Chip out near him running faster than he could. He hollered out
Chip, let's get back and went to him and called him to follow
him. They ran back to their own yard as fast as they could.
Danny shut the gate closed. The dog was right near the gate and
yipping. Turns out it was a toy poodle. Danny breathed a sigh of
relief. Chip went back to his hole near the house. He had his
adventure for that morning. Resting for the afternoon.
