Er, yeah.
Some of you may remember that almost a year ago, I began writing
a story in which the characters are ONM memebers.
Surprisngly, a lot of you liked it.
But I had to stop for reasons I won't go into.
But now it's back.
I shall begin writing a new, refined version of ONM World.

CHAPTER ONE
DIR By: PsychoPikmin
Date: October 23, 2014, 5:28 am
---------------------------------------------------------
CHAPTER 1
The coast of Off Topic was within the heart of a storm. The wind
howled like a group of deranged animals and the rain battered
down like it wanted to destroy anything and everything it fell
upon.
In the heart of the Off Topic Fishing Village, a lone figure
wearing a black coat - hood up, trudged down the path, arms
folded and head held down against the wind rain and rain.
Yellow lights shone out of the windows from the buildings lining
the street, and the dark ocean reached off into the distance
under the ominous storm clouds.
The figure quickly moved into a building: a pub, named The Pub
Thread. He breathed out heavily as he entered the warmth of the
pub. The pub was full of people, many with wet hair from the
rain. There were a lot of people, but it wasn't claustrophobic
or packed. A large fire roared and snapped in a great, stone
fireplace.
He pulled back his hood and looked around. He smiled as he saw a
woman wearing a long, black coat with dark hair sitting alone at
a table, a packet of crisps in front of her and a Naruto book in
her hand.
"Sask!" he called to her, walking over. She turned round, nodded
and waved him over.
He sat down next to Sask and took off his wet coat.
As he sat down, a man wearing a red shirt behind the counter saw
him.
"Alright, DJ?" he called.
"I'm good, Firemblmsthprk," DJ called back.
"What can I get you?" Firemblmsthprk asked.
"No I'm good, thanks?" asked DJ.
"Aye, ," replied Firemblmsthprk, who walked off to answer
another drink rquest.
DJ turned to face Sask, who continued reading her Naruto book.
"I found it," DJ said excitedly.
"Found what?" asked Sask, not taking her eyes away from the
page.
"A chicken chart," replied DJ.
Sask slwoly looked up at him.
"A...chicken chart?" she asked, slowly.
"Yeah," said DJ.
He pulled a darkened piece of paper and put it down on the
table. A precariously drawn map of ONM was on an ink grid. You
could see the Off Topic Islands to the south, not too far away
from the large Music/TV/Film/Reading continent, with the small
Sports country next to that.
Again to the north was the massive Gen Nin continent, and the
small Poke Country to the far North. Strange symbols where
scrawled across the map.
Sask lifted the chart and raised an eyebrow.
"Where did you get this?" she asked.
"Travelling merchant came through this morning. I've spent all
day on the Interwebs looking it up".
He pointed to some of the symbols.
"I couldn't find out what the symbols mean, but they match the
symbols I found online. This is a real chart, Sask. A real
chicken chart!".
Sask looked unconvinced.
"I think you've been inhaling too much sea-air," she said,
eating a crisp.
As she said this, the pub door opened and a stunned-looking man
stumbled in.
Firemblmsthprk noticed him and nodded.
"Alright Lewthema?" he asked.
Lewthema nodded, his eyes watering.
He sneezed.
A giant awesome face plastered itself to the pub floor in front
of the doorway.
Lewthema looked up at Firemblmsthprk.
"Sorry," he mumbled.
"S'alright, Lewthema," said Firemblmsthprk. "It'll make a good
welcome mat".
Distracted by Lewthema's sneeze, DJ turned back to Sask.
"I'm telling you, it's real," he said.
"Come on, bro," said Sask, putting down her book.
"There must be loads of these maps floating around...this one
doesn't prove anything".
"Believe in it, sis," replied DJ. "I mean, come on! We've been
searching all our lives for the Sacred Chickens!".
"No," said Sask. "You have been searching for the Sacred
Chickens all your life. I came along because you'd probably get
killed trying".
DJ frowned.
"I thought you cam along because I was going to see that hot map
guide in the Graphics and Arts continent".
Sask punched her brother.
"Will you shut up about that," she said, annoyed.
DJ sniggered.
"So you and her didn't get it off?"
"Oh my God, DJ! Leave it alone," Sask groaned.
DJ smiled and looked back at the chart.
"So...yeah! Come on! We might actually be close to finding out
whre the Sacred Chickens are!".
Before Sask could bat him away, a man sitting alone at a table
next to them turned round. He wore a black hat and a long blue
coat. He also had a badly shaved beard.
"Sorry to, eh...interupt your conversation," he said in a
grinding voice that sound like it could soar rocks in half.
"But I couldn't help overhearing you saying summin'
about...Sacred Chickens".
DJ and Sask looked at each other.
"Yeeees...," replied DJ, confused and slightly alert. "What
about them?".
The man grinned and turned round fully to face them. It was only
now that DJ and Sask realised that his hand was made of metal.
The were both slightly alert now. They could suddenly smell a
slight tinge of vodka.
"Name's D-Mash," said the man. "Captain D-Mash".
"Captain of what?" asked Sask.
"Oh, a boat," said D-Mash gruffly. "I'm a pirate, ya see...".
DJ tightend a group on the Shuriken in his pocket.
Sask raised an eybrow.
"A pirate, eh?" she said. "And why's a pirate so interested in
Sacred Chickens?".
"Well, I like helpin' people," said D-Mash. "And it just so
turns out that I know a person who may or may not know another
person who may or may not know how to find the Sacred Chickens".
Sask narrowed her eyes.
"What are you saying?" she asked, crossing her arms.
"Well, I'm saying that I may be able to help you in your
little...endeavour," D-Mash replied, looking at DJ and Sask one
at a time.
"What's the price?" asked DJ. "With pirates there's always a
price".
D-Mash chuckled.
"Aye, ya got me...tell me, if you're looking for the Sacred
Chickens...surely you realise how dangerous a journey of
such...calibre is?".
Sask slowly nodded.
"Well then surely you have skills in some form of...weaponry?".
DJ smiled.
"Yeah...we use guns, swords, magic...we're mercenaries after
all".
Sask looked at her brother, a look in her eye that said "SHUIT
UP" yelling at him metaphorically.
D-Mash grinned.
"Even better!" he said.
"You see...I've heard rumours around here that there's
a...monster in the depths between here and the Music country.
That's where I need to go, and it also happens that the bloke
who might be able to help you lives there.
"Now, I take these monster rumours very seriously, what with all
the talk about the Ghost Empire lurking in the Deep South...".
"What are you asking us, exactly?" asked Sask.
"Well..." huffed D-Mash.
"If you help me and my crew take down any monters that we may
come across...I'll take ya to the Music country and the bloke
who'll help you with the Sacred Chickens. Whadda ya say, eh?"
"Well," began Sask.
But DJ beat her to it.
"We'll do it," he said.
Sask whipped her head round to look at him.
"We will?" she said sarcastically.
"Well I'm going," said DJ.
"And you promised Mum and Dad that you'd go wherever I went".
Sask glowered at DJ and made a fist on the table.
She breathed out.
"Well..." she said.
"There'd better be some hot dudettes in Music..."
DJ nodded and looked at D-Mash.
"Very well," said the pirate.
"We set sail tomorrow!".

CHAPTER TWO

---------------------------------------------------------
Chapter 2
DJ and Sask shared a room in the village hotel. It was samll,
with a single room and two beds. DJ had hardly been able to
sleep with the excitement of finally getting a first step on
fulfilling his life's dream: finding the Sacred Chickens.
Not many people actually knew of the Sacred Chickens. There were
the fanatics who pledged their lives to do nothing but eat,
breathe and research the Chickens, with occasional sleep. DJ
wasn't like them.
The Sacred Chickens themselves were supposedly subject of
fairytales. There were two of them: Helmaroc and Ho-Oh. DJ and
Sask's grandfather had gone searching for the Chickens himself.
He'd found them as well. He'd told them stories as children
about his travels across ONM in search of the Chickens; how he'd
met the great artisans of Graphics Country; how he'd fought
Trolls with the Metal Knights in Music Country; how he'd met the
shady Moderators every now and again.
DJ and Sask had been fascinated by his stories as children, and
had thus made a pact with each other to one day find the Sacred
Chickens, just as their grandfather had before them. Many years
later, DJ had mastered katana skills and had set out to begin
his quest for the Sacred Chickens. Sask had reluctantly agreed,
out of DJ's urging her to come after the pact and their parents
telling her to not let DJ get killed.
They'd made a slight career out of being mercenaries since
leaving their home in the Northern Off Topic Islands. And now,
after weeks of tracking down rare world chart salesmen, DJ and
Sask were about to finally make a first step to finding the
Sacred Chickens. And tomorrow, they would be getting onto a
pirate ship. This was going to be interesting.
The sun had risen high the next morning. The only clouds sat on
the horizon over the ocean and the sky was a glassy blue. As DJ
and Sask left the hotel and walked down the bustling street,
they caught the scents of fresh fishcakes and sausages from a
nearby farmer's market. An artist was selling various avatars
and sigs, and a morning game of capture the flag was attracting
a crowd.
The docks were down a grassy path through a field, lined with
trees. Birds could be heard chirping all around.
DJ and Sask wore their long black coats, with a katana in a gold
and black sheeth slung over DJ's shoulder and a customised USP
handgun in a holster on Sask's hip.
As they reached the docks and walked onto the wooden piers, they
saw Captain D-Mash standing next to a large wooden boat with a
large propeller on the back and masts stretching to the sky on
it's top deck.
The boat was the only boat in the docks: all the others were off
fishing no doubt. There was a large crane on the far side too.
D-Mash saw them, laughed and waved with his metal hand as they
walked over.
DJ and Sask smiled and waved in greeting as they approached
him...well, DJ did.
Sask was looking oddly at the boat next to them.
"Ah ha, welcome my friends," said D-Mash in his gruff voice.
"We're all welcome here...I hope you're ready to fight some
monsters?".
"We'll fight whatever fights back," replied DJ.
Sask kept looking at the boat and then looked over at D-Mash.
"This boat is stolen," she said solemnly.
D-Mash shrugged.
"I'm a pirate," he grunted. "What, do ya expect me to buy a
boat?".
He laughed and began climbing up a rope ladder towards the top
deck.
Sask rolled her eyes. Dj looked at her.
"How do you know it's stolen?" he asked.
"You can see from the wood's shine that it's infused with
awesomotanium," she said. Indeed, the wood had a dark shine to
it.
"No pirate would bother infusing wood with awesomotanium".
With this, she briskly grabbed a hold of the rope ladder and
followed D-Mas onto the top deck.
DJ followed.
When he got there, there were several other people on the deck,
whom DJ assumed were the D-Mash's crew.
"Alright, ladies," said D-Mash gruffly to them. "These here are
our guests. They say they have weapons training, so they can
help us with any monsters".
D-Mash turned to DJ and Sask.
"This is my crewm" he said.
He pointed to a tall man in a white shirt and a bandana,
calibrating a telescope.
"That's PixelF," he said. "Our look out".
He then pointed to two crew member hauling large blue spheres
across the deck. "That's Rai13 and Hammer Bro, our tactician and
cook".
He then turned and pointed to a dark corner where DJ and Sask
hadn't looked at yet.
"And that's my first mate, Guwuh".
Out of the corner, stepped a dark blue beaver.
It wore a flak jacket and had a bandana.
DJ and Sask stared for several seconds, before th beaver
acknowledged them in a deep voice that could make you laugh.
"Whadda ya lookin' at?" the beaver growled.

CHAPTER THREE
DIR By: PsychoPikmin
Date: October 23, 2014, 5:30 am
---------------------------------------------------------
Chapter 3
The boat, which D-Mash had called "The Rofl", left the dock with
a sharp jerk, which Guwuh apologised for.
Due to being a beaver (which wasn't the result of some kind of
curse, Rai13 had explained: he was a born a beaver), Guwuh was
quite short and had some difficulty seeing over the Rofl's
steering wheel. Therefore, he stood upon a wooden crate.
DJ and Sask had at first been unnerved upon boarding the Rofl,
but it turned out that the pirates weren't actually that bad.
Hammer Bro had given them some nice fishcakes and PixelF had
been thankful when Sask had helped him calibrate his telescope.
But from then on, the Rofl had speedily whirred over the waters,
the pur of the large propeller driving it forwards with seagulls
floating past them in the blue sky.
Soon, the Off Topic Island they had benn anchored upon had
disappered from view and the deep sapphire ocean surrounded the
boat on all sides.
D-Mash was studying a large chart of ONM that was plastered
roughly across the wall in the cabin at the stern of the boat.
The cabin was practically empty, with a near-empty book shelf
and the map being the only objects of note.
DJ walked in and looked at the chart. It was covered in
scribblings and odd symbols.
D-Mash noticed DJ and smiled.
"How long have you been looking for the Chickens?" he asked.
"We only started travelling a couple of weeks ago," replied DJ,
scanning the chart of ONM.
"Me and Sask have always wanted to go looking for them though.
Our granddad always told us stories about how he travelled to
find the Sacred Chickens and now we want to follow in his
footsteps".
"Did he ever find 'em?" asked D-Mash.
"Oh yeah," replied DJ. "Both of them. He found Ho-Oh in Poke
Country and Helmaroc in WiiWare Country".
D-Mash turned to DJ, looking astonished.
"Both, eh? What did he wish for?".
It only occured to DJ then that he'd forgotten one of the most
important parts of the Sacred Chisken legends: whoever collected
a feather from both Ho-Oh and Helmaroc would get one wish. A
wish for ANYTHING.
The Ghost Empire had strived to find the Chickens in the past
with the idea of wishing for world domination. But they had
failed. And now they were no more...DJ hoped.
"He wished for true love," replied DJ. "He met my grandma in DS
Country a week after making his wish. It was love at first
sight".
"Ah," said D-Mash, grinning. "A good wish, good for ya
granddad".
"What would you wish for?" asked DJ.
"Ah, I don't need a wish," said D-Mash. "I'm good where I
stand".
"What about you?"
DJ shrugged. "I dunno," he said. "I haven't though about it. I
thought I'd have the time to come up with something while
looking for them".
D-Mash laughed. "I see what ya mean," he chuckled.
"You'd make a decent pirate, ya know," he said, nodding.
"You're good at making things up as they go along".
"Is that a complement?" asked DJ.
D-Mash laughed again. "You know what?" hes grunted. "I'd like
you to have this". He stuck his metal hand in his coat pocket
and produced a small, green sphere.
As DJ took it from him, he realised it had a large, cheeky grin
across one side.
"Thanks...what is it?" he asked.
"It's a Mr Green," said D-Mash. "Squeeze it and bounce it on the
ground whenever you're in trouble. It'll help you in many ways".
Before DJ could ask anymore, Sask rushed in.
"PixelF says there's something coming," she said.
D-Mash raised an eyebrow and lumbered out of the cabin.
Sask noticed the Mr Green in DJ's hand.
"What's that?"
"I really don't know," replied DJ. "D-Mash gave it to me".
Suddenly, D-Mash yelled something. It wasn't good.
"Battle Stations!".
DJ and Sask ran out onto the deck.
"What is it?" DJ asked, noticing everyone had rushed over to the
front of the ship.
He and Sask ran over to see what was happening.
Their hearts started to speed up when they saw it.
A massive shadow could be seen below the waves, moving towards
them.
Very quickly.
D-Mash turned to face the stern.
"Mr Guwuh!" he yelled. "Hard turn to starboard!".
"Aye, captain," yelled the beaver, spinning the wheel sharply
right.
The Rofl turned round as the shadow continued to race forward.
D-Mash pointed at DJ's sword.
"You any good with that thing?"
DJ drew the shining blade from its sheeth and held it at his
side.
"Fairly," he replied.
"Here's hoping you get to use it then," said D-Mash urgently,
turning to Hammer Bro.
"Mr Bro, activate the Threadlocker!".
"Aye, captain," replied Hammer Bro, who rushed off and down
below the deck.
DJ was about to ask what the Threadlocker was, but couldn't
because he was thrown off his feet as the Rofl jerked suddenly.
When he got back up, he gulped and tightened his grip on the
katana.
Rising up before the Rofl, was an enourmous pink squid.
It's tentacles rose from the water and nudged the sides of the
boat, causing it to rock dangerously. It had massive green eyes
that glared down upon the Rofl's crew.
"What the hell is that?!" yelled Sask.
D-Mash grinned in a demented fashion.
"An old friend of mine," he said.
He raised his metal hand. It shifted and jerked, changing into a
whirring, buzzing arm cannon.
"Hello, Random-Hero," he said.
The squid roared in some kind of monsterous reply.
"Random...Hero?" said DJ, taking a step backward to balance
himself as the ship continued to rock.
"Aye," growled D-Mash. "I've fought it a great many times.
Killed my father it did, DIDN'T YA, RANDOM-HERO!".
The squid roared again. It obviously recognised D-Mash.
"Hammer!" yelled Guwuh. "Get the Threadlocker up already!".
As he said it, Hammer Bro appeared back on deck, hauling a huge,
silver cylinder over his shoulder. Rai13 helped him carry it up
next to the wheel.
"What's that meant to be?" asked Sask. She'd drawn her modded
USP.
"The Threadlocker," replied Guwuh. "It's an intense energy RPG,
and it'll hopefully blow that thing away!".
All this time, D-Mash had been yelling insults and the like at
the squid, which was eyeing him closely.
Hammer Bro aimed the massive Threadlocker as Rai13 grabbed one
of the heavy blue spheres that he'd been carrying before the
Rofl had launched and locked it into the RPG chamber.
There was a bleeping noise. "I have a lock!" yelled Hammer Bro.
Random-Hero seemed to hear him and one of the eyes shifted round
to look directly at him.
"FIRE!" yelled D-Mash.
Hammer Bro pulled the trigger.
He jerked backwards as a blasting blue rocket flung out of the
launcher. It swerved in the air before smashing heavily inro the
side of Random-Hero's head with an almighty kaboom and a
lightning-blue explosion.
The squid roared in pain and collapsed into the water with a
large splash.
Hammer Bro held his fist in the air with triumph.
DJ loosened his grip on the sword. "That can't be it, can it?"
he said to D-Mash.
Before D-Mash could answer, the Rofl leapt into the air
uncontrollably.
DJ dropped his sword as his feet left the deck. His stomach
jerked upward.
The Rofl splashed back down and its entire crew thudded down
with it.
PixelF tumbled down from the crow's nest and landed falt on his
back, looking annoyed.
Then Random-Hero resurfaced. Its eyes where bloodshot with anger
and a huge wound revealed the red flesh beneath its pink skin.
No doubt the salt-water on the wound had done the squid any
favours either.
Its giant tenatacles slapped down on the deck, narrowly missing
Sask, who fired of six shots from her USP.
DJ was down on his front.
He was slightly winded after the fall.
He saw his katana several feet ahead of him.
He rolled over to get up and fetch it, only to see a huge, pink
tentacle looming up above him, about to crush him.
DJ slammed his eyes shut and braced himself.
A green sphere of energy smashed into the side of the tentacle
and ripped it clean off. Random-Hero roared in pain as part of
its tentacle rolled across the Rofl's deck and into the ocean,
leaving a trail of blood across the wood.
DJ looked over at D-Mash, who lowered his arm cannon.
"Thanks," he yelled.
D-Mash nodded and fired another shot at Random-Hero, which
missed.
DJ got up, grabbed his sword and looked at the situation.
Sask, Guwuh and PixelF where all firing some form of gun at
Random-Hero, as was D-Mash.
Hammer Bro and Rai13 were desperatly trying to reaim and reload
the Threadlocker.
Help them, thought DJ.
He stumbled quickly across the rocking deck and up next to the
wheel.
"You need help?" he said to Rai13.
"Yeah!" yelled Rai13.
"Help Hammer hold this thing steady!".
DJ knelt down behind Hammer and held part of the launcher over
his shoulder.
It was insanely heavy.
Rai13 managed to insert another blue sphere into the chamber.
"Reloaded!" he yelled.
"I have no lock," replied Hammer.
The Rofl countinued to rock in all the commotion, making aiming
the heavy RPG incredibly difficult.
One of the squid's tentacles began to hover towards them.
"Crap!" yelled Rai13, drawing an Uzi 9mm and firing carzily at
the tenticle, which recoiled very little.
"I have a lock," yelled Hammer Bro, who hadn't noticed the
tentacle.
Out of instinct, DJ lept away from the Threadlocker and leapt
into the air towards the tentacle. He slashed swiftly with his
katana.
The tentacle swung heavily in middair as a reaction to the
painful slash.
DJ landed back on the deck, as the tentacle recoiled bloodily
into the sea.
Hammer Bro had managed to fire the RPG, but the sudden lack of
extra support for the heavy launcher had sent to his aim off.
The blue projectile rocketd into the sky, away from the giant
squid.
Hammer Bro swore.
"I'm sorry," yelled DJ.
"It's okay," replied Hammer Bro. "It's still locked on...it just
has to come back down".
DJ looked up at the rocket.
"How long will that take?".
"Not too long, I hope".
Rai13's eyes bulged. "Son of a-".
Before he could finish his sentence, one of Random-Hero's
tentacles sweeped low over the deck.
Hammer Bro dropped the Threadlocker and dove down.
DJ ducked just in time, a did Rai13.
But part of the stern wasn't so lucky.
The tentacle smashed straight through and down the back of the
awesomotanium-wood deck and splashed into the sea.
A huge jet of water reared upwards afterword and smashed own on
top of them, washing the Threadlocker and all its ammo into the
waves.
Hammer Bro swore and fired six shots from a revolver at the
squid.
Sask had rushed up to help them, and quickly tried to reload her
USP.
But another tentacle distracted her, almost crushing her and
smashing into the wheel, crushing it instantly.
Random-Hero roared in triumph.
It was winning.
D-Mash, Guwuh and PixelF continued to intrepidly shoot it, with
very little promise.
DJ frowned. This was it. His adventure had barely started and it
was about to end. Sorry Granddad...
But suddenly, as slight glimmer of hope surfaced.
Out of nowhere, the rocket from the Threadlocker soared out of
the sky and hit Random-Hero directly in the face.
The squid recoiled immediatly, disappearing below the waves. It
was gone.
But, before DJ could smile, one of its tentacles smashed
straight up through the deck. Wood soared upward. DJ's eyes
bulged as a wooden beam slammed own upon him and pinned him to
the ground.
Everything was turning black.
That last thing he saw before all sight and sound went was Sask
crouching next to him, yelling his nam soundlessly.

CHAPTER FOUR

Chapter 4
DJ groaned as he tried to open his eyes. He was cold. He could
hear water lapping against a shore. Was he dead? Had he drowned
after Random-Hero had been fought off?
He made a fist with his hand which was by his side. Something
filled his hand with damp coldness. It was slightly moist,
yet...grainy.
Sand.
DJ sat up almost immediatly.
Sask turned to face him, slightly shocked. She was sitting
beside him.
"Are you okay?" she asked.
DJ barely heard her.
"Sorry?" he asked.
"Are you okay?" Sask asked again.
DJ nodded. "Yeah," he said.
"Your head doesn't hurt?"
"No...where are we?".
"An Off Topic Island".
Slowly, DJ stood up. They were on a beach that bordred between
the sea and a dark shrub forest. The sun was setting in the
distance above the water, but a sheet of very dark clouds was
enthralled across the sky, so the sunset barely made any effect
on the strange darkness that surrounded them.
And behind DJ, was the Rofl and its crew.
The Rofl was broken in two, half of it entrenched into the sand
in the shallow water and half of it tipped forwards on the
beach.
DJ slowly walked over to the broken Rofl, followed by Sask.
D-Mash turned round when he heard their footsteps approaching on
the wet sand.
"Ah," he grunted. "Your awake, then".
A depressed look of forlorn was on his face, as though he'd just
lost a friend.
"What happened?" asked DJ.
D-Mash looked back at his waned ship. "Random-Hero broke some of
the stern off and had heavily damaged the front.
"We were taking on water and you were unconscious. We managaged
to get onto a strong current that lead us here. When we made
landfall, the bloody boat snapped in two".
D-Mash turned to face the dark forest.
"And now we're stuck here...".
"Where is here exactly?" asked DJ.
"One of the smaller Off Topic Isles," replied Guwuh, who had
plodded out of the wreckage. Over his shoulder was the world
chart from the ship's cabin.
He dropped it on the sand and unravelled it.
He waddled round to where the Off Topic Isles sat to the west.
"I think we're here," he said, pointing his paw at a tiny island
to the very north of the island. It was quite a distance away
from the rest of the islands.
D-Mash read the description next to the island on the chart.
"Locked Sticky Island..." he read.
"Says here there's an abandoned fishing hamlet on the southern
shores".
"Won't be anything there," said Sask.
D-Mash looked up at the Rofl.
"Mr Bro!" he called.
Hammer Bro's head popped up from a large hole in the ship's
hull.
"Aye, captain?".
"How much food do we have?" D-Mash asked.
"Not much," replied Hammer Bro. "All my fishcakes would appear
to have...drifted away. There's some milk and a packet of
biscuits and that's it".
D-Mash frowned.
"That all?".
Hammer Bro ducked down for a few seconds and suddenly came back
into view.
"There's that rock cake that your brother's wife sent you ages
ago".
D-Mash scoffed.
"I'd rather die of starvation than eat any of my sister-in-law's
cooking".
He shook his head.
"I always meant to tell my brother to stop sending me her
cooking. But he's dead now".
There was a brief silence, before D-Mash suddenly looked up at
the Rofl.
"Wait a second," he said. A righteous grin appeared on his face.
"That's it!".
He dashed towards the Rofl and climbed up the rope ladder that
still hung limply from one half of the boat.
He reached the top deck and leapt onto the other half and
disappered into the cabin.
"What's he so happy about all of a sudden?" Sask asked Guwuh.
"No idea," replied the beaver.
D-Mash reappeared over the side of the top deck, laughing.
"Mr Guwuh!" he yelled.
"Catch this!".
He through something down to the beaver, who caught it
awkwardly.
It was a small, dusty whistle.
DJ and Sask looked over the beaver's shoulder at it, both of
them confused.
D-Mash rejoined them and took the whistle from Guwuh. He held it
high and laughed.
Rai13 and PixelF appeared from the ship and Hammer Bro stuck his
head out of another hole in the side of the ship.
"What's so funny?" PixelF said.
"We can get off this island!" said D-Mash.
Rai13 raised an eye.
"Has he gone mad, Guwuh?" he asked the beaver.
"Yeah," said Hammer Bro. "Did he eat some of those cookies that
his sister-in-law sent him again?".
"He's laughing over a whistle," said DJ.
"Whaaat...?" said Hammer Bro.
D-MAsh turned to face them. "This," he said.
"Is how we're getting off this island!".
"How, Captain?" asked Guwuh.
"Whenever I blow this whistle, only my brother can here it,"
said D-Mash. "He will come here and take us to Music Country!".
"But you said your brother was dead," said Sask.
D-Mash shrugged.
"Not completely dead," replied D-Mash, and he blew on the
whistle.
As he had said, there was no noise.
"Not...completely dead?" said Sask.
"Don't ask," said Guwuh. "He does this kind of stuff all the
time".
"Does good stuff usually happen?" asked DJ.
"Sometimes..." said Guwuh.
D-Mash pocketed the whistle. "I reckon we have a few hours
before my brother gets here," he grunted. "That means we have
some time to kill...who's up for finding and exploring that
fishing hamlet?".
"I'll do it," said Sask. "Anything beats sitting on wet sand".
"I'll go too then," said DJ.
"ME! PICK ME!" yelped Rai13, almost falling off the top deck.
"I'll go to," said Hammer Bro through the hole in the side of
the wrecked ship.
"Alright then," said D-Mash. "Mr Guwuh, Mr Pixel, you remain
here and keep watch. My brother may arrive early".
"Aye, captain," replied Guwuh, a little disgruntled.
"Mr Bro! Fetch us some guns!".
"Aye captain!" said Hammer Bro enthusiastically, disappearing
from view.
He came out of the ship a minute later heaving a large sack.
He dropped it heavily on the ground and turned to DJ.
"What is your shooting preference?" he asked.
"Machine gun? Shotgun?".
"Whichever's lighter," said DJ.
"Aye," said Hammer Bro.
He stuck his hand into the sack and pulled out an M1014 shotgun.
He threw it to DJ, who caught it and almost fell over.
It was heavy.
"I'm good thanks," said Sask, tapping her modded USP in its
holster on her hip.
"I'll take an M240," said Rai13. Hammer Bro heaved out a very
large machine gun and handed it to Rai13, who pulled back the
reload bar.
"You using your arm cannon, captain?" he asked D-Mash.
"Aye," repied the captain, holing up his metal hand.
"Okay...and I'll have an M4A1," said D-Mash, pulling out an
assault rifle.
He handed ammo out to everyone and then they were ready to go.
"We'll be back within the hour, Mr Guwuh," gunted D-Mash.
The beaver nodded and waddled back to the Rofl.
The island was very unnerving to DJ. They'd entered the dark
forest to try and find the fishing hamlet. They'd been trecking
through here for a good half-hour now and daylight had almost
completely faded. The sky had for some reason turned an
unnatural dark grey, with a slight green tinge. But nobody had
noticed.
The pirates were talking about some past adventure involving
mangos.
Sask walked behind DJ in silence.
The trees were ominous around them, almost as though there were
actually following them and replanting themselves whenever they
look round.
Fear was sitting in the back of DJ's head, waiting to jump out
unnexpectantly.
Suddenly Sask stopped.
"Hey, D-Mash," she said.
The pirates stopped and turned round.
"Aye?" D-Mash said.
"Something's wrong," Sask said.
Rai13 and Hammer Bro looked at each otherand back at Sask.
"What?" asked D-Mash.
"This forest is too quiet," Sask said.
"Forest's are never silent".
Indeed, she was right. There were no birds chirping, no wind
blowing.
"So?" asked Ra13.
"So we should go back," said Sask.
Hammer Bro shook his head.
"Look, Sask," began Rai13. "If you're scared, then-".
"HELP!".
Everyone looked round.
The forest was silent once more.
"What was that?" said Hammer Bro, who raised his gun.
"Sounded like a cry for help," said D-Mash.
"HELP!".
There it was again.
"There it is again," said DJ.
"That way!" said D-Mash, pointing left. "Go!".
They all ran through the shrubs in the direction the voice had
come from, avoiding trees and jumping over dips in the ground.
The only sound was their footsteps rushing through the shrubs.
Eventually, they came to a clearing in the trees.
"Nobody's here," said DJ.
They all stood in the clearing.
As before it was eerily silent.
Then suddenly, something burst out of the trees.
Everyone except D-Mash yelped in surprise. Hammer Bro even fired
a couple of shots into the air in shock.
It was a man.
He was bald and wore a ripped, blue shirt, covered in dry blood.
His trousers were ripped and the bottom half of his left trouser
leg was missing.
He was clutching his right arm and was crying.
Nobody said anything.
"Please help me," the man whispered.
Then, again, something else leapt from the trees.
It was a small, purple blob of goo, with a spiny shell on its
back.
The goo latched onto the man, who screamed in terror.
Everyone else leapt back.
Another blob appeared and also latched onto the man, who was
stumbling around in pain.
More blobs leapt from the trees, latching onto the man's body.
DJ, Sask and the pirates could do nothing but stare in horror as
the gooey creatures sprung from nowhere and latched themselves
onto the screaming man.
"OH GOD! OH GOD! HELP ME! PLEASE HELP ME!".
This was the last thing he said, then a blob covered over his
face, so that his words turned to muffled screams.
The man was now covered in the blobs, the only visible part of
him being his hand, which writhed around, searching from
something that would help it.
And then it went limp, and was sucked away into the assimilatiom
of purple blobs.
The shells on the backs of the blobs formed together into a
large ball, that writhed and beated like a heart on the forest
floor.
Rai13 raised his M240 at the writhing object before him.
Everyone else followed him.
They opened fire, all of them too horrified to say anything.
The sound of the guns was deafening.
But the bullets seemed to do nothing. Just richochted off of the
thing.
"Cease fire!" yelled D-Mash.
Everyone let go of their triggers.
The sound of gunfire echoed away into the darkness.
DJ's ears were ringing.
The assimilation of purple blobs continued to writhe around on
the edge of the clearing.
"What the hell is that?" whispered Hammer Bro.
"Trollspawn," grunted D-Mash.
Sask turned to face him, a horrified look on her face.
"Troll...spawn?".
The fear in the back of DJ's head latched onto his mind as the
purple blobs had to the man.
He knew what trollspawn lead to.
He'd read it up on interweb sites. He'd seen it in movies.
He did not want to see it now.
And then, the assimilation fell to pieces, revealing what was
inside.
Five figures slowly shuffled out of the shell that the
assimilation had formed. They were humanoid, with pulsing blue
flesh that was held together by a pale skeleton. Their faces
were like masks of bone, with gawping mouths and spiny little
teeth.
They dripped with purple fluid.
One of them raised a clawed hand. It spoke in a droaning,
emotionless voice.
"Looooooooooooooooooooooooooool".
It was as though it was trying to be funny, but was demented and
savage instead.
"TROLLS!" yelled Rai13.
Everyone raised their guns and slowly walked backward.
The trolls slowly stumbled forward.

Chapter 5
The trolls slowly shuffled closer to the group, clawed hands
outstretched towards them, dripping with purple fluid.
Rai13 opened fire with his M240.
The 7.62mm bullets shredded straight through the trolls, which
screeched in morbid pain.
"LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!" the closest one moaned as it fell
to the ground full of bullets.
Soon, all five of the trolls were dead on the forest floor,
purple liquid slowly seeping into the ground.
They all stood in silence, fearful and releaved.
"I think I know why that fishing hamlet is abandoned now," said
Hammer Bro slowly, staring at the dead trolls before them. "I
think these things got here first".
"They made five trolls out of one person," said Sask.
"How many could you make out of a village?".
"Aye," said D-Mash grimly. "That entire hamlet must be the
trollspawn nest".
He nudged the closest troll with his foot.
"We're lucky these are only newborns. It's the older ones we
should be worried about".
What he said seemed to be a sign of bad luck, because a roaring
wail suddenly rang up over the dark trees.
It was yelling just what these trolls had moaned.
"LOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!"
Everyone looked up and raised their guns.
Out of the trees before them, a heaving shape bounded into view.
It was a troll, but not just any troll.
The blue flesh beneath it's white exoskeleton was pulsing with
bloodlust. It's arms were swollen up with muscle, which
virtually made them into legs.
It's bony mask of a face was cracked, its spiny teeth changed
into sharp fangs.
It's eyes were dark pits full of mindless rage.
"LOOOOOOOOL!!" it roared.
"Run!" yelled D-Mash.
The group fled into the woods, fear driving them forwards.
DJ dropped his shotgun in panic.
The bulky troll roared agian and gave chase.
Sask wheeled round and fired three shots with her USP.
All three bullets were absorbed into the bulky troll's blue
flesh.
It winced a little, but nothing else: it kept going after them.
"Get back to the Rofl!" yelled D-Mash again.
To DJ, his voice seemed alarmingly distant.
Suddenly, he realised he was on his own, amongst the dark trees.
He heard several sharp claps from Hammer Bro's M4A1 in the
distance.
DJ ran in the direction of the gunfire. But he found nobody.
He once again found himself in a forest clearing.
Eventually, there was no sound at all. The trees seemed to just
absorb all sound and keep it from you, like they were purposely
trying to make you scared.
Suddenly, for the first time being in this forest, a shivering
wind whistled across the forest.
DJ drew his katana at the sound of it.
The bulky troll was here somewhere. It was watching him from the
darkness. He knew it.
It was the predator, he was the prey.
The wind rustled all the bushes and pulled the dead leaves off
of the treetops.
DJ was jumping at every sound made.
A twig snapped behind him.
He jumped round.
The darkness was the only thing there to greet him.
But then it became clear to him that the bulky troll was trying
to catch him off guard in an open area with lack of cover.
If he were in the trees, he'd be harder to chase.
Katana in hand, DJ ran into the trees.
He continued to run straight forwards, only making detours when
obsticles got in the way.
The lower branches ripped at his face and hair.
He could here no deranged growling following him, no undergrowth
being ripped from its roots.
He burst out onto a dark-sanded beach.
The moon illuminated everything around it, giving the sea a pale
glisten.
DJ looked to his left and then his right.
The wreckage of the Rofl was on a beach, which probably ran
around the entire perimeter of the island.
But which direction was it?
Before he could make any rational decidion, the buly troll leapt
through the trees and onto the beach.
It noticed DJ.
"LOOOOOOOOOOL!!" it roared.
DJ ran left, away from the troll, which followed him in its mad,
demented bloodlust.
DJ dashed as fast as his legs would let him, the andrenaline and
fear driving him forwards.
He peered quickly over his shoulder to see where the troll was.
It was gaining on him, only a couple of metre behind him.
He could feel the sand vibrating under his feet as it thundered
after him.
But suddenly, the wrecked Rofl appeared several hundred feet
before him.
He may have some hope left.
Urging up all his strength, he sprinted for his life. But he
still felt the bulky troll coming up behind him.
He wasn't going to make it.
Any second now, the troll would lunge, taking him down and
eating him.
A loud bang rang out.
Something whizzed past his head.
He never saw anything, just heard a sharp crack.
There was a thud and a angry "LOOOOOL!!".
DJ looked behind him.
The bulky troll was dead, shot straight through the face.
This didn't stop DJ though. He kept running towards the Rofl,
albeit more calmly and less frantically.
As he came to a stop, everyone crowded around him, checking to
see if he was alright.
DJ was bent over, panting. Sask was holding an FAL ACOG rifle.
She'd shot the troll throgh the skull.
"Ah...dammit...D-Mash, when...when does your brother get here?"
he asked.
"Not much longer," replied the pirate. "We're just going to have
to wait it out until then".
DJ looked up at him.
"Wait it out? What about the trolls?".
"Don't worry, 'bout them," answered Guwuh.
He pointed behind him. Two large gatling guns on tripods where
sitting on the beach around the Rofl, slowly beeping as they
aimed left and right.
"Me and PixelF recovered some more stuff when you were in the
forest. We got motion-sensing sentry guns and a heckload of C4
just inside the treeline.
"What's more, we have this".
The beaver pulled an orange-sized sphere out of his flak jacket.
It was silver, with a small timer on the side which currently
read 00:00.
"What's that?" asked DJ.
"This is an Emperix-grade lisploder," replied Guwuh. "It fires a
chain-lightnin' link to every moving thing close enough. The
more things it links to, the bigger the explosion we're going to
get".
D-Mash folded his arms.
"These things know we're hear now. They're going to be coming
for our blood and they won't stop. I've seen these things
before. They're ruthless in numbers".
"Which means the explosion's gonna be BIG," said PixelF.
DJ stood up staright now. His breath had returned and the
andrenaline had subsided.
"Why do we have to blow them up?" he asked. "Surely we can just
leave them".
"No," replied D-Mash.
"Trolls adapt. Soon, they'll be able to swim or survive
underwater. They'll infest every island around here and then
they'll go for the mainland. They'll be an epidemic. And we
don't want that".
The mood was very tense.
Everyone had a machine gun or assault rifle and were sitting or
lying behind rocks or inside the wrecked ship.
For almost a whole hour, no trolls had appeared.
The only sounds were occasional winds, the sea and the beeping
of the sentry guns.
DJ and Sask both had FAL ACOGs and were pertched at the front of
the wrecked ship, with a view of the entire treeline.
DJ almost kept falling asleep, while Sask-with her extensive
firearms training, had unflinching focus the entire time.
Everyone was silent, except from Hammer Bro, who occasionally
kept asking D-Mash how much longer until his brother arrived.
Another half-hour of silence passed.
Something on the tree twitched.
Sask tensed.
Slowly, a troll shuffled out of the dark forest.
The sentry whirred round harmoniously and instantly.
There was a loud rasp of gunfire, and the troll fell with a
sharp growl, ripped to pieces by the powerful turretfire.
Surely enough, more trolls began to appear, all of them falling
to the sentry guns.
"Do it!" yelled D-Mash from within the Rofl.
DJ picked up a small detonator switch. He'd been assigned to
press the button when D-Mash said so. He'd guessed what it did.
"Kaboom," he said to himself.
He pressed the button.
There was a deafening bang. The entire ship seemed to shake.
Explosion-after-explosion-after-explosion loomed int the sky
from beyond the trees, lighting up the entire beach.
You could see trolls being launched into the air and into the
dark oceasn behind them.
But more came through the trees, unfazed by the explosions.
"Open fire!" yelled D-Mash.
Sask and DJ looked through their ACOG scopes and fired shot
after shot at the cascade of trolls pouring out the trees.
They were quickly forming piles before the sentry guns: soon
they wouldn't be able to hit them hard enough through the dead
trolls.
DJ reloaded. He wasn't great at shooting. Sask however was
hitting headshots every time.
"My Guwuh!" yelled D-Mash from down in the hull.
"Arm the lisploder!"
"Aye, captain," came Guwuh's always loyal voice.
The beaver came into view down on the sand holding the spherical
lisploder.
He did something with it and a metal spike came out of its base.
Using this, Guwuh set the lisploder into the ground.
But he quickly ran back into the boat as another bulky troll
lumbered out of the trees, smashing all the other trolls to the
side.
The closest sentry gun, opened fire, but this one wasn't as
easily fended off as the one who chased DJ.
The bulky troll roared and punched the sentry gun to the ground.
It fell onto the sand. Instantly, its guns stopped.
The bulky troll charged forward towards the Rofl and slammed its
massive arms against the awesomotanium-wood hull.
DJ felt the whole thing shake.
He heard Rai13 yelled frantically as he tried reloading, while
the bulky troll had its arm rammed through the side of the Rofl.
D-Mash appeared behind DJ and Sask. He reached over the side of
the Rofl and fired a green energy blast from his arm cannon.
The other sentry gun had now fallen, and the entire beach below
the Rofl was now swarming with trolls, coming in all directions.
"Goddammit, their getting in!" yelled Guwuh, who was firing his
limited Uzi ammo at the trolls.
Indeed, they wee slowing attempting to overflow into the broken
hull.
"Captain!" yelled Guwuh.
"Where the hell is your brother?!".
D-Mash said nothing and kept firing energy blasts at the trolls.
Soon, Hammer Bro, PixelF and Rai13 also joined them on the top
deck.
Trolls were clambering up, piling on top of each other just to
get anywhere.
And they showed no signs of letting up.
They were all moaning "LOOOOOOL" in one, harmonious bass note.
I'm almost out of ammo!" yelled Rai13 over the gunfire.
He held the heavy-firing M240, the most valuable weapon they
had.
DJ was scared, tens times as scared as when he was fighting
Random-Hero. He would have taken drowning anyday ovr being eaten
by trolls.
The trolls were now on the top deck. There were dozens of them.
So easy to gun down, yet so unrelenting and eager to kill them
all.
But then, something exploded within the trolls.
A missile.
DJ looked up. He could not believe what he was seeing.
"What the hell is that?!" he yelled to D-Mash.
D-Mash looked up and smiled.
In the sky, moving closer and closer to them, was a giant,
robotic chicken.
It swiftly moved through the air using a giant propeller on its
top side.
It slowly wheeled round the wrecked Rofl, a pair of gatling guns
under its metallic wings.
The trolls were blown to pieces, gunned down until the hull of
the Rofl was filled with their corpses.
"Hold on," said a voice with a metallic ring, coming from the
chicken.
It hovered over them. A rope ladder dropped down for them to
catch onto.
Everyone held on for dear life as the chicken slowly hovered
back into the air.
On his place on the ladder, D-Mash pulled out a small, wirey box
with a red button on it. The lisploder switch.
"Ha!" he yelled down to the trolls. "Have some of this!"
He pushed the button.
Several seconds went by.
D-Mash pushed the switch again.
"The switch isn't working!" he yelled.
DJ felt a pang of frustration, all this suuden horror for
nothing?
"Don't worry, Captain," yelled Guwuh.
"I can activate it manually! We'll blow these sods away!".
Everyone looke down the ladder at the beaver.
"Mr Guwuh, if you let go of that ladder..." D-Mash yelled.
"Don't worry about me sir," yelled the beaver.
"This is our one chance to kill these things. You know that, I
know that".
"You can't do this, Guwuh!" yelled Sask. "You'll be killed!".
"Ah, I don't worry," shouted Guwuh, laughing.
"I'll be fine!".
He pulled a Desert Eagle handgun from his jacket pocket.
"Captain D-Mash, Hammer Bro, PixelF, Rai13, DJ, Sask...it's been
a pleasure knowing you all!".
At the very last second, DJ swung round the ladder so that he
was upside down. He tried to grab Guwuh's paw so that he didn't
fall.
He missed.
Guwuh let go and fell towards the Rofl.
"Guuuuuwwuuuuuhh!!" yelled DJ, hand outstretched.
The beaver smiled as he landed on the boat.
He jumped over the bow and disappeared from sight.
As he landed on the sand, Guwuh fired several shots at the
trolls coming towards him. He'd enjoyed life, but he knew being
a pirate who get him in a situation like this. He twisted parts
of the sphere several times so that a high-pitched whine rang
out. It got higher and higher.
Guwuh fired more shots at the trolls until the Desert Eagle was
empty.
He threw it to one side and faced the trolls.
They were right on top of him. He grinned.
Chains of lightning arced towards Guwuh and the oncoming trolls.
The entire beach was illuminated by blue light.
The lightning continued into the forest, going straight threw
every single troll on Locked Sticky Island.
The lisploder clicked.

CHAPTER SIX

Chapter 6
The giant robot chicken slowly whirred through the night sky,
which had changed from pitch black with a green tinge to a dark
blue, dotted with stars.
The eye of the moon watched over the wispy clouds and the dark
ocean below.
It was all very peaceful.
But inside the robot chicken, in a large spherical room with
metal walls and large viewing windows, the mood was far less
serene. DJ, Sask and the remaining pirates all sat in silence,
tired and releaved to be a away from the island.
DJ sat sharpening his sword with a piece of flint, and Sask sat
staring out of the window at the night sky.
The pirates were slightly less docile.
D-Mash was standing with his arms folded on the either side of
the room, while Hammer Bro, Rai13 and PixelF all sat moping.
They were mourning for Guwuh's death.
Ever since climbing aboard the giant chicken, nobody had said a
word.
DJ and Sask hadn't known Guwuh for as long as the pirates had,
so they didn't have the same feeling of remourse.
But what got to DJ's mind was the fact that D-Mash's brother was
nowhere to be seen. The giant chicken seemed to be flying
itself. His first idea was that it was unmanned, a robot. But
there was were flight controls and a viewing window to his left,
so someone had to be flying the thing.
"Hey...D-Mash," said DJ.
"I...er...how come nobody's flying this thing?".
D-Mash turned slightly and looked back out the window.
"My brother's flying it," he said.
DJ was confused. "But there's nobody here," said DJ.
"What about me??" said a voice, that made everyone except D-Mash
jump.
There was nobody else in the room.
"D-Mash," said DJ, looking up at the ceiling and all around him
to find anyone who could have spoken.
"Who was that?".
"My brother," replied D-Mash. "He's part of the ship".
He looked up at the ceiling.
"Say hello KD King".
"Hello," said the metallic voice again. Now DJ was even more
confused.
"Why...is your brother part of the ship?".
"Remember when I said he wasn't completely dead?" D-Mash
grunted.
"This is what I meant. He was dying of drengotitus, and on his
death bed, his wife transferred his mind and soul into this
chicken airship. Now he's part man, part machine".
"I prefer it if you didn't call me that," said KD King from his
unknown position within the airship's hardware.
"Can't you call me, like, a CYBORG or something cool like
that?".
DJ smiled.
"What is's like being a flying metal chicken?" he asked the
ceiling.
"Pretty cool," replied KD King's tinny voice.
"Although it gets cold when you fly too high. Speaking of which,
where exactly am I supposed to be flying?".
"Music Country," said D-Mash.
"Cool," replied KD King. "It's gonna look awesome at this time
of year, with all those Christmas lights up and stuff".
DJ grinned.
Christmas would be here soon and he'd been told loads about
Music Country in the winter, with the vast and extravagent
decoartions that would be hung up on the city buildings.
Upon the mention of Christmas, the mood in the room seemed to
lighten a bit. Everyone began smiling and talking properly,
leaving the sadness behind.
Soon, DJ fell asleep. the andrenaline from the troll fight had
been the only thing keeping him awake and now it was gone.
DJ awoke grumpily the next morning. He'd been lying in an odd
position. He sat up and stretched. Everyone else was also
asleep.
He turned to face the large window next to him and looked out at
the ocean below. The sky was a pale blue, with wispy strands of
cloud stretching forth before the morning sun. It looked very
cold.
But then DJ noticed something else. KD King was flying straight
towards a city that lined straight along the shore. Skyscrapers
towered towards the sky, and cars were visible driving up and
down the roads.
Almost everything was covered in snow, which had no doubt
recently fallen. Airships and zeppelins could be seen hovering
through the air over the towers.
DJ grinned. "Music Country," he said to himself.
Music Country was the first and largest part of the
Music/Film/TV/Reading continent. It was mostly city, with
several distrcits based around different genres of music.
Soon, everyone was awake and peering in awe at the sprawling
city below them.
KD King hovered low over a tall building and opened a door at
the back of the chicken. DJ and Sask jumped out onto the roof.
It was cold; their breath could be seen in front of their faces.
D-Mash and his crew came to the door to see them off.
"You're looking for a man named Flash7," said D-Mash.
"I think he lives in the Classic Rock district. You might need
to ask around to find him, but he'll decipher that map for you".
"If it's real," added PixelF.
"Well it better be," said Sask. "After all we've been through
this had better get somewhere".
"Don't worry, lass," said D-Mash.
"Now I'm afraid this is where our paths seperate. You were both
great against the trolls. I hope we meet again in the future!".
"Thanks for helping us," said DJ, he and Sask waving.
D-Mash nodded and closed the door in KD King's hull.
The giant metal chicken whirred away into the distance. DJ and
Sask were left alone atop the building.
"Well then," said Sask, looking around the city buildings on all
sides.
"We should stop freezing our asses here and find this Flash7
guy".
DJ was about to agree, jut as a low growl painfully rumbled
inside his stomach.
"Er...can we get some breakfast first?" he asked. "We haven't
eaten since yesterday morning".
Sask grinned. "Well we'll need to get down from here first".
DJ looked round and saw a sign that pointed in the direction of
a stairs.
"We could take the stairs," he said.
Sask shrugged and looked round.
She walked to the edge of the building and looked down.
"Nah," she said, walking back to DJ.
"I'd rather jump".
She ran back to the edge and leapt off the side. Her hands and
feet hit the opposite wall and she cat-leapt off onto the wall
behind her, slowly making her way down the side of the building
until she reached the ground.
DJ looked over edge and just jumped.
He anded with a chuffing noise as he landed in a large pile of
snow next to the building.
He stuck his head to see Sask laughing nearby.
"What the hell was that?" she said. "I couldn't be bothered to
cat-leap," replied DJ, wiping snow off of his coat.
They walked into the bustling street, were people walked up and
down in big coats, trying to keep out of the cold.
There were street performers playing epic solos on electric
guitars.
They must be in the Hard Rock district. That couldn't be far
from Classic Rock.
DJ and Sask found and bought breakfast in a cafe up the street.
DJ wolfed down a full-English, while Sask had toast and coffee,
which she drank while reading her Naruto book.
After paying and leaving, they'd looked for a way to get into
the Classic Rock district. They guessed they were getting
somewhere when the street performers changed to long-bearded men
with electric guitars singing Beatles and Creedance Clearwater
Revival songs.
But they had no way of knowing where Flash7 lived.
AFter hours of walking around the cold streets and asking people
if they knew a Flash7-which they didn't, DJ and Sask went and
sat in another cafe.
"It's no use," said DJ, drinking some Coke he'd been served.
"We can't find him anywhere".
"Yeah, well D-Mash didn't exactly give us any rock-solid info
did he," said Sask, shaking her head in annoyance.
They sat there for a while, coming up with failproof ideas for
finding Flash7.
Soon, DJ got frustrated, and went to the cafe counter to ask for
a chocolate muffin.
As he asked the waitress, he overheard a conversation between a
ruff-looking man and a younger man with glasses sitting on a
stools at the counter.
"So, what are you're not going to do anything?" said the man
with glasses.
"What can I do, Irish?" said the man. "The police won't believe
me, the Metal Knights won't believe me and I can't find a mod
anywhere".
"So you're just going to ride it out? I mean, if I could publish
this, I would. But there's no evidence to write about".
"Ah...what can I do...I tried reasoning with that Krikenking
guy, but he says their just going to keep Helmaroc looked up".
DJ almost turned his head all the way round to face them.
Helmaroc? They were talking about the Sacred Chicken Helmaroc.
And somebody had it...locked up?
DJ listened more carefully to the conversation.
"I'll just ride it out...hope that they don't do anything".
The ruff looking man got up.
"I'll see you later, Irish," he said gloomily, walking out of
the cafe.
DJ watched him leave.
He walked quickly over to Sask and nudged her.
"I think I've found him," he said.
"What...Flash7?" asked Sask. "Yeah. He just left the cafe. Come
on, or we'll lose him".
They both swiftly left the cafe, just as the waitress arrived
with DJ's muffin.
DJ looked up and down the steet to try and find the ruff-looking
ma who'd left.
He saw the back of his coat several metres up the street.
DJ ran after him with Sask in tow. They caught up with him and
DJ tapped him on the back. The man jumped and turned round. He
looked afraid.
"What do you want?" he asked, alerted by their sudden presence.
"Er, hi," said DJ. "We were hoping we could talk to you. My
name's DJ; this is my sister Sask".
Sask waved.
"We want to talk to you abou the Sacred Chickens," said DJ.
At the menion of the Chickens, the man's face turned pale, his
expression changing to raw fear.
"Are you one of them?" he asked urgently. "I've told nobody
anything - I promise!".
"One of who?" asked Sask. The man looked at them for a few
seconds before DJ spoke.
"Is your name Flash7?" he asked. The man nodded stiffly.

Chapter 7
Flash7 quickly urged them into his apartment. The only light in
the large room came from a tall, wide window that had an amazing
view of the snow-covered city.
The pale morning light didn't have a massive effect on the large
room. DJ and Sask could make out a dark bookshelf, the
silouhette of a sofa and several chairs, and what might have
been a table.
All-in-all, it was quite dark.
Flash7 was mumbling something and pulling latches and turning
locks on the door. He was obviously very worried about
something.
"I'm sorry for the lack of light," he said. "But if I turn the
lights on they'll know I'm here".
Sask raised an eyebrow.
"Who?" she asked.
Flash7 shifted his eyes and sat down on a chair. DJ and Sask
followed him.
"People...know...that I know things about the Sacred Chickens".
"Yeah," said DJ. "That's why we wanted to talk to you. We heard
from a friend that you'd be able to decipher a...rare chart for
us".
DJ took the darkened map of ONM and gave it to Flash7.
"This map is supposed to take us to the Sacred Chickens...we
were told that you'd be able to tell us what this text means so
that we can find the Chickens".
Flash7 looked up at him.
"I don't need to decipher this to tell you were the Sacred
Chickens are," he said, handing the chart back to DJ.
"What do you mean?" asked Sask, sitting forward in her seat.
Flash7's eyes suddenly erupted with fear. Something to do with
the Sacred Chickens was obviously bothering him.
"Is there anything wrong?" asked Sask.
Flash7 peered over Sask's shoulder at the large window.
"Okay..." he whispered. "I'll tell you...I don't think they can
here us".
"Who can't here us?" asked DJ, before Flash7 told him to be
quiet with a harsh shushing noise.
"We have to be near-silent," whispered Flash7. "They're watching
the apartment,".
"Who?" whispered Sask, slightly frustrated now. "Who is watching
you?".
"Well...I don't know who they are, but they knew that I had
extensive knowledge about the Chickens, so they contacted me.
This man, said his name was Krikenking...he told me that for as
long as I lived, I could never tell anybody about the Chickens
ever again".
"Why?" whispered DJ.
Flash7 looked down.
"Because they've captured one," he whispered. "Helmaroc...it's
here. In Music Country. In this very city. And they...are doing
things to it".
"What kind of things" asked Sask. Flash7 shook his head and
shrugged.
"Krikenking wouldn't say...but I'm not to tell anyone
anything...or they'll kill me".
As some kind of answer to his words, the wide window behind them
smashed.
Something bounced across the dark carpet.
Nobody could see what it was, only that it had a small, flashing
red light on it and was bleeping
Sask realized what it was nearly instantly as the bleeping began
to speed up.
"Get down!" she yelled.
They all leapt to the floor as the small object exploded loudly.
The entire window smashed instanly and the table on the far side
was flung over.
Cold, winter air rushed into the apartment.
Then, out of the smoke created by the explosion, a figure
wearing dark clothes came into view. He wore green-tinted night
vision goggles, perfect for seeing in the low light.
He held two M9 Silenced handguns in either hand. He fired
several shots in their direction, all of them merely hissing
from the gun barrel.
The bullets ricochted off the floor and into the wall; all
except one, which plowed into Flash7's shoulder.
He collapsed, clutching his now bloodied arm.
Sask stood up and fired at the assassin, who ducked behind the
flipped table.
Sask kept firing at the table until the USP's magazine was
empty. As soon as she stopped firing, the assassin jumped out
and fired more shots at them.
DJ drew his katana, leapt towards the wall and bounced off at
the assassin.
But the assassin drew a sword of his own and blocked DJ's slash.
They locked swords again and again, but soon DJ was on the
defensive.
The assassin kept swinging his sword high and low, until a
massive drive forward caught DJ off guard.
He lost his footing, and the assassin kicked him in the chest.
DJ fell over heavily.
The assassin drew one of his M9s and aimed at DJ's head.
But DJ kicked out and the assassin fired at the ceiling.
Sask fired two more shots which dug into the assassin's kevlar
vest. It caught him off guard, which allowed DJ to kick his
shin.
The assassin backed towards the glassless window, stunned
slightly.
He pulled away his night-vision goggles to reveal angry green
eyes.
DJ lept up and shoved him out the window, but not before the
assassin grabbed his arm and pulled him out with him.
The two tumbled out of the apartment, falling through the
freezing air towards the concrete.
