       Passing of Coach Robbin Ogle
       
       
       Robbin Ogle, assistant coach of the Quakes Silver 16U team,
       passed away suddenly last evening at the age of 51.
       
       Robbin succumbed to complications in her long battle with Lupus,
       a serious medical condition.  Coach Joe Gasnick reported that
       Robbin seemed very frail last Wednesday and Thursday—she left
       practice early on Thursday.  He spoke to Robbin Monday night
       around 9:30 pm—she was found about an hour later unresponsive by
       her sister.
       
       Robbin was very successful as a Criminal Justice Professor at
       UNO. She wrote several books, and was a sought after expert by
       police departments around the country. She also served on
       several boards in Omaha dealing with women's and girls’ issues.
       
       Robbin had a huge athletic career in Missouri but softball was
       her first love and as a player she gained widespread fame
       throughout the Midwest.  Gasnick said that even as recently as a
       year ago, an umpire at the Kansas City Memorial Day Tournament
       recognized Robbin and asked for her autograph.
       
       Robbin loved the game and loved coaching and made many friends
       throughout the years.  She was dedicated to helping the young
       ladies and talked many times about inspiring the kids to use
       softball as a springboard to go to college and be successful
       women.
       
       Said Coach Gasnick, “We are going to dedicate our remaining
       games to Robbin and I am proud to say Robbin Ogle was my
       friend.”
       
       Services are pending but tentatively planned for Monday.
