       UMKC Softball Camps

       Tuesday, July 24 (Pitchers, Incoming Sixth Graders and Up): In
       the morning session, we will discuss the fundamentals of
       throwing fastpitch and will provide drills for increasing speed
       and control of each pitch. Pitchers will learn different grips
       and techniques for throwing fastball, change-up, drop, curve,
       screw, and rise ball. In the afternoon, offense (hitting,
       bunting, base running, and sliding) will be discussed along with
       a variety of drills to work on the fundamentals of hitting. You
       must provide a catcher for the morning session. This may be
       another player or adult, no cost for camp.
       Wednesday, July 25 (Catchers, Incoming Sixth Graders and Up): In
       the morning session, our fielding instruction will focus on the
       defensive techniques of catching. Instruction will include
       receiving pitches, stance, throwing, bunting, pop flies, and
       game strategy. In the afternoon, offense (hitting, bunting, base
       running, and sliding) will be discussed along with a variety of
       drills to work on the fundamentals of hitting.
