Change Series 2A to dual braking circuit, anyone done it, got so
me tips?

Hi all,
I have an 88 series 2A with disc on front and drum rear. I am
upgrading to a dual circuit, putting in a series 3 pedal box, a
90 master cylinder with reservoir etc. It has been suggested I
will need a proportional valve to balance brake pressure between
front and rear, anyone had experience here?
I have had some heart stopping moments with braking and want
100% reliability not something I get into every drive and think
is she gonna let me down... I have upgraded the hand brake
transmission drum to disc, best upgrade ever, holds on hills and
doesn't chase you down anymore :giddy:
Look forward to thoughts on this.
Cheers Tony.
Wellington, NZ.

I did the opposite when rebuilding my S3. Went from split system
to single line but still keeping the servo. Reasons were the
PWDA valve was rusted to pieces and a new one was stupid money.
Do I feel any less safe? probably not as my driving is all slow
speed and low miles.

I'm fairly certain the PDWA's function is only to notify a
difference in pressure, it doesn't adjust performance according
to a leak or owt. All that said, I binned mine years ago for the
same reasons as ^. I put Zeus discs on the front and fitted a
proper pressure proportioning thing. Notice a difference? Only
to my pocket. Same result when I ran all discs for a while too.
Save your money and spend it on fuel.
