Brass monkey 2018

Hi all!
After a very successful 2017 with 123 Land Rovers (and 1 Austin
Gipsy) in attendance, Brass Monkeys Land Rover Meet returns on
28th January 2018.
We have a new venue this year that is very well suited to our
love of all things oily, the Tanfield Railway, a fantastic
location that boasts a number of engine sheds and workshops etc
that actively restores locomotives back to working condition.
They will have at least 1 passenger train doing a 6 mile round
trip to the East Tanfield platform over the country's oldest
railway bridge. This is only £10 for which you can ride all day.
The engine shed is the oldest working engine shed in the world,
built in 1854 by Stephenson himself. This is full of all kinds
of fascinating artefacts and locomotives.
The carriage shed cafe will be serving hot meals, soups and
sandwiches at very reasonable prices and the platform cafe gift
shop will be serving hot drinks where you can warm your bones by
the fire.
Camping is available from 14:30 on Saturday 27th for those of
you brave enough. If you intend to camp please try to let me
know for numbers.
I look forward to seeing you there!
Anyone going, I have been to the last 2 at Shildon, this is a
new venue !

I would come to see the railway but with all you Land-Roverists
fucking the carpark up with your big gay off-road tyres I'd get
the Jag dirty (or stuck!).

Thanks to those of you who rocked up, was great to get so many
series motors there. The railway have agreed to have us back
next year to cause more havoc.
