Oil pressure warning light on when engine hot

This is puzzling me, the oil pressure warning light comes on
when the engine is fully warmed up (about 5 miles into my 6 mile
       drive).
There is plenty of oil in there and it runs nicely, and I know
the sound of dry tappets and it's not doing that. I am
therefore suspecting the sensor of failing when hot.

       Hi Pintofale
That's what it sounds like to me other than the wire from the
       switch shorting somewhere ;-)

G day matey, just fit a oil pressure gauge to the top of your
oil filter then piped through to the cab/gauge and that will
give you more of an idea of the oil pressure you have, a simple
light can be temperamental at the best of times.
       Just my views R-rose .
