Insurance Question
By: D4B Date: July 14, 2017, 11:48 am

Hi All,
I need to insure my Series 3 Landy as a daily driver so I can
keep my No Claims Discount running.
Does anyone on here do this or are we all on Classic Insurance
Policies?
Cheers Steve.

I have mine as daily driver and business for the princely sum of
£168.00 with flux.

I found no problem with Flux or Lancaster doing this with a
series as a daily driver in the past, and have a couple of sets
of no claims 'parked' on classic non-daily driver policies too.
You can't protect your bonus on a classic policy but at least it
keeps it running.

Many Thanks for your replies,
the Landy is currently on a Classic Policy with Lancaster
so I will contact them to find out if I can "Park" my NCD
discount on there.
Cheers

Well Lancaster were useless, didn't answer the phone, but the
message said in busy times it's best to email them, which i did,
but after waiting 3 days still nothing.
So I tried this a different way, contacted my car (now sold)
insurer, The AA, and asked to change the vehicle insured with 9
years NCD to the Landy. Tha AA are merely an insurance broker,
who said that although their insurance company Premier wouldn't
insure a Landy with 7 seats, Ageas would, for £133 per year.
Less what they owed me for cancelling the other vehicle, just
£24 to pay.

ok they have finally replied, too late though coz the deal is
done elsewhere.....
But here is some of what they said, perhaps it will help someone
else:
If you have No Claims Bonus that is not being used on another
private car policy, we can apply them to your policy to keep
them "live". You will not accrue another year No Claims Bonus
however should you wish to go elsewhere in the future or wish to
use them on another vehicle, we can send them out for you.
If you would like us to keep the No Claims Bonus live, we would
require proof of the bonus to be sent in to us. If the bonus is
being used elsewhere on another insurance policy, unfortunately
we would not be able to keep them live.
