happens sometimes when I reverse, from the transmission(i think
area) there's a sort of clattering sound. Happens if i move
froward then sudddenly come off the power...
       The mounts look ok..

Propshaft UJs maybe, can get very clatterry when they are
       failing.

I would say prop UJ, dropped the need bearings and causing
movement in the UJ. get under the motor and give them a good
wiggle up,down side to side and every which way you can and if
its the UJs you will feel movement in the prop.

Make sure the hand brake is off and in neutral (wheels chocked
obviously) otherwise you won't feel the movement in UJ's.

what about a soft/broken exhaust rubber
allowing the exhaust to touch the chassis etc under these
       conditions

I had trouble with clattering, well, more of a tinkling.
There were about three broken clutch springs clattering around
       the bellhousing...

It isn't the exhaust, as the mounts are all brand new. And it
       isn't springs either.
Was pithing down today, so will try the propshaft as mentioned
above. Even better, I'll get a video and upload it. No doubt
       someone will identify it sharpish!
I would have said mounts, but these all look good..

       [/quote]
Yes, I have done the same. Thought something was wrong till I
       let the handbrake right off.
