:smiley-furious:
Well thought I had cracked it.. Took all the cables off, pipes
& the like to get the carb out, took it off, stripped it down
bit by bit keeping it all in order took all the jets out &
cleaned everything scrupiously with carb cleaner, put it back
together with new gaskets and it ran the best it ever had on
both petrol & LPG, switched it over a few times , turned into
our lane running on petrol & it started 'chugging' like it was
hunting for fuel again.. Bo**ox !!!
Had a quik look to see if owt had come loose / fallen off.. took
it back out again, runs OK on das LPG however still troublesome
on petrol :2mo5pow:

Have you tried loosening the petrol cap slightly before taking
it for a run? I'm just wondering if somehow as you use the
petrol setting a vacuum might built up in the petrol tank,
preventing sufficient fuel from reaching the carb; if you
temporarily broke the seal at the petrol cap as a diagnostic
exercise, it might prove the possibility..

Hi Sprocket - tried that 9ish) did check the breather hole was
clear when last filled up @ petrol station - I fill up that
infrequent (about every other month) I forgot to put the cap
back on and it was still the same :-(

I think that your carb is sucking air in between the two halves.
Get yourself a piece of flat glass and some wet n dry paper
perhaps 240 grit, dismantle the carb,
and also remove the emulsion block to enable both halves to be
sanded flat, reassemble and see if it's improved.
This worked wonders on mine!
Previously mine was running very rough, and would actually run
better with the choke pulled out a little.....
Now it never needs the choke....
Cheers Steve

DarrenH said on 27th June (sorry I don't know how to 'quote' )
"the only non topical thing i can think of is the glass fuel
bowl (if it has one) this has a rubber seal at the top, if
that's not sealing the pump will just pump air" - while replying
to another technical query - just wondered if it might be
applicable to your current challenge...
