Tailgate chain link size?

I've got everything to convert my tailgate back to chains, from
the ghastly wire things, except the chain....could someone be
arsed to measure the individual link length of the chain please?
Then I can harass my local ironmonger for the right stuff.......

Hi Paul,
Doh! I have just offered a pair of the thingies that bolt to the
wheel boxes, and "one and a half" chains, for cost of postage.
(Under 1kg, so £2.75 via My Hermes)
Not only that, I have just brought them indoors, weighed them,
and returned them to the garage. I can't be naffed to go out and
measure them. Not today, anyway.
I will PM my lucky friend, as if he can spare one link from the
short one (I'm guessing it was shortened to stop a Safari door
swinging too far). If he says yes, I will cut a link off, and
post it to you, so you have something to show your hardware
shop. I should know by tomorrow.

Hi Paul,
I had a reply from my lucky mate.
He said you can have the whole of the "too short" chain, but too
short is too short, so I will send you a complete link to keep
postage down. Unless you say different.
Er ... I need your PO address.
Er.2 ... If you send me your email address I will send you a
copy of the picture of the chain as well, so you can count the
links. I clicked the Attachments option below, but nothing
happens. *help*

Hi Paul,
The link was handed into PO about half an hour ago ... Postman
should have collected it from behind the counter several minutes
later. It went through at normal 1st class rates, so you might
get it tomorrow ... if they airmail it across the Solent ...
hung under a drone. rofl
