Two brake system questions

Hello all
1.After replacing all 4 wheel brake cylinders and brake shoes
on my series 3 109 SW diesel (1982) the brakes are getting hot
crosswise (RH front &
LH aft). Brake adjustment should be fine (after brake shoe
contact two clicks back). The car is equipped with a dual line
system. Before this repair
decelaration was ok without any breakouts. One note the brake
was operated by the previous owners with DOT4 fluids, now I
flushed the system
and returned to the mandatory DOT 3 specs fluid.
2. I canīt understand the purpose of the pressure differential
warning switch (NRC4282). In my opinion the car isnīt equipped
with any brake failure warning System. Can this mystic switch
cause the overheat?

Stephan,
My best guess is that you still have some air in the system, I
am not sure if you would feel this in the pedal with dual
circuit brakes, it might be worth bleeding the two non-operating
wheels a bit more.

The PDWA switch as set up by the factory splits the circuits
front / rear. Sometimes when bleeding the brakes it is possible
to get the shuttle valve inside it decentralised (because it's
there in order to shut off one circuit in the event of a leak)
and hence only have braking on two wheels.
I wonder if at some point yours has been setup with a diagonal
split rather than a front / rear split and the PDWA become
decentralised after bleeding the brakes following the fluid
change.
